The purpose of this thread is to discuss, critique and idolize the Voice Actor cast of Claymore. Please remember that the discussion should center on their performances as professional voice actors and not on the show content (which can be discussed in the various Episode threads). Please remember this simple rule when critiquing a VA's performance or reading another forum member's critique:

- Don't take it personally.
In other words, you’re free to disagree with another person’s opinion, but don’t flame them if they offer a well written and well thought out analysis that differs from your own opinion. Keep it civil.
- Voice Actors are humans.
Yes, it’s true. They’re human. Therefore, don’t just indiscriminately rip them and their work apart as if they’re inorganic objects. You don’t have to praise them non-stop, but be thoughtful in your criticism.

This thread might duplicate some discussion in the Episode threads, but it can also serve to demystify various VA roles, disseminate VA information (VA Bios, VA photos, etc) and provide cast information of various types as well as discussion about performances.

* She is a Seiyū and a Singer

* Her given name, Hōko(法子) is sometimes mistransliterated as Noriko, even in Japan. This may be due to the fact that Noriko is another way of pronouncing 法子.

* Her debut was in Martian Successor Nadesico as Yurika Misumaru

* She has starred in many anime produced by Sunrise .

* In both Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, she voiced characters who were the main character's initial love interest . Fllay Allster in Gundam SEED and Stella Loussier in Gundam SEED Destiny.

* She has worked alongside Kotono Mitsuishi whereby they voiced partners who act as foils to each other.

In the episode 5 discussion I commented on Theresa being voiced by Paku Romi. That is definitely not the way I had ever imagined Theresa sounding. However, after watching this episode when I think of Theresa's voice, this performance is what I will think of from now on. She changed my impression of how Theresa should sound. Now that's good.

Lately Paku Romi has been impressing me. Usually she does basic tough girls like Maki (Air Master) and Temari (Naruto) or tough little boys like Edward Elric (FMA) and Natusme (Gakuen Alice). I thought I knew what to expect from her, but lately her voice has increased its range as I first heard with Alita/Falis (Murder Princess) and now this.

Geta Boshi: Would you care to do one of those elite write-ups for Paku Romi? BTW, do you pull that from ANN or are there other sources you use?

I will get on it I was planning to do Hirata Hiroaki ( Collector / Sanji / Gojyo ) was being a lil biased towards one of my fave VA . Terresa being central to Clare's life that sounds better ^^

Paku Romi added a nice mysterious tone to her voice for the role of Teresa, went well with her happy side we got to see in the later part of episode five.

Her voice always works perfect, can't wait to hear more.

I must confess Romi played this role quite diffrent from what I had pictured /imagined I was expecting Teressa's voice to be a bit a on the mischevious side as she is sarcastic and drabble-dribbles in black humor . After recovering from the intial dissapointment of her flat voice , I must say Romi has portayed the role to perfection . The scene's where Terresa displays her human side has been done wonderfully and thats where Romi peaks displaying the right amount of required emotes .

From the body language and especially tone you get the feeling Terresa is indeed holding back her emotions and discovering new ones . The brief euphoria is controlled with subtle display of emotions

I think it's the same person who did Saber in Fate Stay Night but I may be mistaken

Up in post #2 Geta Boshi tells us that Clare's seiyu is Kuwashima Hōko and gives a rather nice bio for her. I'm afraid that she was definitely not Saber, though she was in Fate/stay night as Mordred. Saber was Ayako Kawasumi.

The voice acting in this show is one of the best ensemble performances for quite a while. With Kuwashima Houko, Paku Romi, and now Hisakawa Aya, it's become a collection of some of the very best in the business. I'd say that this just goes to show that the veterans can be quite deft at simply outperforming the newer seiyuu.

I especially find Hisakawa Aya's handling of Priscilla very interesting since I don't believe that she's voice a young girl character since her role as Natsume Maya in Tenjo Tenge.

Out of curiosity, Geta Boshi, why are you highlighting some of the titles in red?
