Yuri Seijin Naoko-san

Quote:
The November issue of ASCII Media Works' Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine is announcing on Monday that an anime adaptation of kashmir's Yuri Seijin Naoko-san manga has been green-lit. The surreal gag manga follows a quiet, timid girl named Misuzu whose older sister Naoko is returning from studying aboard. However, when she hurries home to meet her sister, Misuzu instead encounters Naoko-san, the strange alien from Yuri-sei (Yuri Planet) who loves eroticism, yuri, and girls.

The manga has been running in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh since 2005, and the second compiled book volume shipped in 2008. The magazine's website is hosting a trial version of the first three pages from the manga. The two manga volumes featured limited-edition bundles with three songs. The musical group MOSAIC.WAV created the songs for a (then hypothetical) anime version.

what!? an alien who loves eros, yuri and girls = win.

Though I have never heard of this before. Probably no one is translating the manga.

Actually...

Edit: Nevermind, the reason nobody translated it is because...it's really weird (at one point, they turn snow into little snow lolis to clean the snow up, and err, it goes downhill from there). And REALLY REALLY low on yuri. THere's more (mostly worksafe) scenes involving tentacles than ones yuri O.o In fact, if there wasn't ocassionally stuff like "yuri laser" (turns two trees into trees that seem to hug) or "yuri missile" (used to send an annoying person into space) I'd not even notice it was meant to be yuri in any form XD;

The premise sure doesn't seem to live up to it.

Even if it doesn't have much yuri, I will always be up for absurdism.

Just finished watching the 2012 OVA, and it was pretty damned impressive. Absurd humour reminiscent of the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei series, but a touch of melancholy with the issue of Misuzu's missing sister too. I'd gladly call it "artistic" as a standalone animation but would love to see further adaptations too.
