Oh and I'm stupid of the non-skewed I'm so perfect I have never made a mistake because that is an outright lie. Every human makes mistakes stupid ones at times. Nobody here can say they have not had narrow accidents driving because they never made a mistake.

How many can honestly say they never did anything stupid when they know better? No one. You talk on cell phone while driving we all know it's dumb but we do it anyways when we are behind a wheel of a dangerous vehicle. You are in a hurry and walk up or down the escalator that is dangerous if you were to trip and fall you could lose a finger or hand but again we do stupid things all the time. You pull out in a hurry to get out causing another driver to have to slow down some and what if our vehicle stalled out when we are pulling out? You hear a strange noise or see a strange light we tend to want to go investigate it very stupidly.

Curiosity hits us all.. Good example your playing a game, reading a book, watching an anime and wanting to know what happens next. We stay up way too late than we get in the car and drive to work, school, or where ever else we need to go. We all know it's stupid to drive a car when drowsy but we do it anyway. Isn't that one of the dumbest and stupidest things we can do as humans yet we do it all the time. If it was not human nature to not get enough sleep than we would not need energy drinks at all but we do. We are only human and it's in our nature to do stupid things even when we rationally know it is stupid.

I like him as a main character he is not all gung ho like they always are in most shows. He basically likes to be lazy but he is too nice to be lazy. I would rather play games and be a go home club but his friend is Akiho so he puts up with her idiosyncrasies and gets dragged around.

Than you have Frau who did him a favor so now he is paying that favor back it seems 10x over again because he is too nice. He even tricked Subaru to join just to make Akiho happy as she was about to lose her club that nobody else cared about because she is his friend. He knew better than to go back out in the full storm to close the antenna but than he was begged by Airi and AI it does not matter she is an AI to him she comes across as having feelings and his nicety made him risk it.

Kai, is a great character he is the typical young male. Games, Sleeping, Eating, and being curious is just that being human. He was so curious to know what the next report says that he did something stupid as he was in a rush to see the next report. But than would you not if you had heard that the sun will explode and it's being kept hush hush? Would you not be so curious to the truth that you would take risks to know if it's true or not? A secret that he believed that may have been the cause of the murder of Ko.

Well, yes, in a way.

Sure, he is nice to Airi that way, but his motivation to protect the radar is not exactly right. Instead of being driven by Airi’s plea, he should do it by realizing that it was his mistake that the radar was exposed to the storm to begin with. So yeah, Kai’s complain towards Airi kinda annoys me. Just my opinion.

Well another reason he may have protected it is he still does not know the whole story so we do not know what purpose that antenna serves. BTW I call it an antenna because it does not resemble a radar and it's pointing upwards to space like a Satellite Dish and not a radar. Now I am not sure if that is intentional and it's not a radar or just someone did not research what a Doppler Radar looks like in the dome.

Now if it's a Radar that would explain why there is power still there as that would be a useful item for as any radar is useful so using it would be a given. But if it's what it seems and not a radar than what purpose does that Satellite Dish serve? So if Airi was given a task involving that dish than maybe it's serving a very essential function so best to protect it at all costs at this time. So that maybe another thought going through his head at the time but it's hard to judge because we do not hear his thoughts.

That's probably a weather radar

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_radar

It does look like a satellite dish, but that's still a radar.

Edit: Or rather... the design and everything is probably copied from a real weather radar... but Airi says it serves to transmit data, so I guess it's an antenna. Maybe it's an antenna camouflaged as a wheather radar.

Wait a moment... could that really have transmitted anything if the dome was closed?

It should be able to - most weather radar units have permanently-attached domes, and radar requires being able to both transmit radio energy and receive the echoes from that energy bouncing off other objects, so as long as the dome on Airi's radar is made of something transparent to radio waves, like fiberglass, it should have no problem functioning as a transmitter or as a radar. However, when the panel from the dome crashes through the window, it sounds like metal, which wouldn't work at all as a radome (and would require the dome to be opened to transmit anything). I'm willing to forgive that oversight though, as I don't expect the people making this show to also be electrical or radio engineers. Or maybe I'm just inured to technical inaccuracies in TV and movies now - I don't have the energy to nerd rage every time some movie uses a 747-400's cockpit to represent a 747-200's anymore...

Maybe it is still in operation as a weather radar, but has been modified by the Committee of 300 or whomever to perform the other functions Airi described. Perhaps for that special application the dome needs to be opened (to allow higher transmitted power?), but in normal weather radar operations it can remain closed. That could also help explain why it is still functional after 10 years - they could pay the people who maintain the weather radar part a little extra, or threaten them, or a combination thereof, to keep quiet and take care of a couple additional pieces of equipment. I am not an electrical engineer, so I have no idea if this is really plausible, though.

Spoiler for episode 8:

Yes it can transmit through the dome same way as radar does. It's a non-reflective dome.

The problem is that it either can transmit through the dome or it can't.
If it can't, then Airi's job was meaningless, since the antenna never transmitted anything.
If it can, then why did Kaito have to open it?

But she is Poplar. They simply put a Tanegashimachine near her. I didn't even realize she somehow looks similar to Akiho until you wrote this

So this time, a group called Committee of 300 wants to depopulate the Earth and control the remaining through a unified world government. Looks like Kai stumbled unto something even bigger. This will be a roller coaster ride for Kai.

Committee of 300 is responsible for all the events of Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate (they were behind the SERN).

So this genki girl Nae was in Steins;Gate? And instead of being an adorable, charismatic sales chick she was emotionally damaged back then? Interesting.

I know that Robotics;Notes takes place in 2019... when do Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head take place? RN is the first I've seen of the Semicolon Trilogy.

Steins;Gate takes place in 2010. Don't recall when Chaos;Head takes place. I wouldn't really call her emotionally damaged for the most part. Though I'm saddened she hasn't Tuturuu'd yet.
