Watch whichever one you want. They have absolutely nothing to do with one another, so it doesn't matter if you watch them in a different order. Technically Chouja came out first and Reideen is the most recent. So if you really want to watch them in chronological order then you can. But like I said, it doesn't matter because they are totally different and unrelated.

I never did watch all of Chouja. As for Reideen....it could be nice to look at sometimes, but there was virtually no plot and the characterization was awful. The only decent things in the series were Gadion, Roxell, Roxell's cat and Hoshikawa.

I have seen a fansubbed version before but I do not think it had ever been licensed.
The Production IG version was a homage to the original Yusha Raideen adopting the base plot of the original and spinned it into their own.

But shouldn't you also watch Rahxephon before Reideen for completist sake? I still love Rahxephon.

What? RahXephon has nothing to do with Reideen. You don't have to watch it at all to complete anything. RahXephon was a bit of a homage to Reideen/inspired by it. That's it. It's otherwise, a totally different story. Though to be honest RahXephon is a 1000x better then Reideen anyway and I'd highly recommend people watch it over either the more recent Reideen or Chouja.
