But, yeah, there is a part of her that likes him because of Freya's feelings. Though her hate is stronger.

I believe that she is not dead and that bell will save her not only from the freya familia but also from herself, meaning helun will come to accept herself for who she is. And I still believe that it was her who rescued ryu. Which is why ryu was put of from meeting helun (or did they met?)

I don't think Bell can get out of this situation without ridiculous plot armor, if I remember correctly Loki said she won't interfere when Freya tries to claim our cute rabbit and Freya has Ais' favor so if they don't interfere Hestia Familia won't be able to win because they don't have any strong allies that can be help against Freya Familia, even if Xenos help them I don't think it will be enough. (I don't Freya will kill them because if she does that she will gain Bell's hatred and his soul will be clouded and she doesn't want that)
What do you think? in my opinion the most realistic and safest solution would be Bell converts to Freya Familia in exchange ensurance of his familia members' lives (well I can't see Oomori doing this but who knows), they aren't against someone like Apollo this time it is Freya so if Loki Familia doesn't intervene or without a miracle I can't see any way without plot armor.

The fact that Bell uses TALK no Justu on Freya to get to her Syr side was something I also theorized at the end of Volume 16. It was obvious that Freya doesn't actually want to use force to steal Bell, Ottar even called her out on that.

My speculation is a pretty cynical take on potential developments, but if we're being realistic here from a storytelling perspective, there aren't that many potential outcomes from this development.

1. Bell gets forcefully converted into a member of Freya familia, story takes new direction. Hestia familia has to figure out how to rescue Bell, Bell has to figure out how to escape and make new allies/friends amongst a bunch of people who are seething with jealousy.
2. Bell's kidnapping triggers large scale conflict between all affiliated parties and story comes to a situation where only one family can make it out of the conflict ( War Game, or whatnot)
3. Bell is kidnapped, but the situation has the leeway for him to get-out-of-jail by taking advantage of narrative elements that are plot devices ( like the fact that Freya might just be genuinely in love with Bell in a normal way, etc etc )
(2) is extremely unlikely for obvious reasons. Freya is way too powerful and it's too early for the story for come to a position of Apollo-conflict.
Then the next question is really, what is the main purpose of the focus on Freya/Syr? And what is the reason for the decision to have Freya and Syr be the same person?
I can see (1) being pretty feasible tbh. Mainly cause Oomori has spent 2 books fleshing out Freya Familia already, and it feels like they're leading in a way to make them more prominent and central to the broader narrative, and Bell being part of Freya familia is an interesting hook.
But likewise, I can see (3) being it as well. (3) would be a more haremette focused arc, where if the last 2 stories was establishing Ryu in contention for the Bellbowl, then a (3) approach would be more focused on the nature of Syr/Freya's feelings towards Bell, his recognition of that affection (kinda) and cementing the hazy sense of attraction that Syr/Freya feels for Bell.

Not a huge fan of one my favorite girls "Syr" being the same character as one of my least favorite characters Freya...
From the spoilers I don't think Helun is truly dead. No body, no written word saying so, so I am still open to the idea she is still alive. We know the war is coming in the next volume but we know for sure that Bell is not getting converted to Freya. If Helun was still alive then there could have been a plot to get Helun to accept returning to Syr but that isn't likely anymore. So what get Freya to accept her "Syr" personality? I don't know but I do know that I don't like Syr anymore XD

Hedin (Freya Familia's executive) was training Bell for his date with Syr (Freya). Part of that training involved doing Pass Parade on adventures parties with pretty woman in the Middle Floors. When the girl was in despair by the amount of monsters Bell would come defeat them all and bring her to safety while flirting along the way. The first girl that fell for Bell because of this was Laurier from the Hermes Familia.
yep syr-helun is a frrya familia
Bell gets a letter and it’s a letter inviting him for a date with Syr/Freya for the upcoming festival. Bell and his familia are thrown into chaos because of the love letter, and more importantly by who delivered the letter Helun. It is revealed that Helun made a deal with Freya, where Helun would also have a chance to win Bells heart. If Helun secret is found out (that she isn’t really Syr) then Helun is never to do anything to Bell again, she is never to see him, and she is to immediately admit defeat. Those are the terms that Freya gives Helun as part of their game.
In the background Syr confronts Ryu over Bell. At which point Ryu eventually realizes that she likes bell and begins to understand her feelings for him. She wants to keep the date from happening and stresses about it, even becomes absent minded at work, but still wished to support Syr because of everything she did.
Bell is on his way to the hostess and when passing by an alley an arm comes out and he is kidnapped. He is taken to a tea shop (same on where he spoke with finn about Lili) where Hedin evaluates him and tell him he would throw him right out and reject him if he were a women because he is unsophisticated etc. Bell tells Hedin he hasn’t decided about the date, and hedin tells Bell there was never a choice and threatens him and his familia. He then tells him he will reconstruct him in the 5 days before his date with Syr. Hedin refers to syr in a respectful manner which leads Bell to wonder what her identity is, to have a level 6 address her as such.
Hedin then begins to train bell. The training is 3 parts. First is mirrror and 1 on 1 training with Hedin regarding facial expressions and proper etiquette. Second is in the dungeon, where Bell is supposed to save women from monsters routed by Hedin and then walk them to safety. He is supposed to lead them on but let them down lightly at the end without agreeing to see them again or disillusioning them too much. If he is failing, Hedin will activate precise magic that will hit bell. During this time Bell takes to calling hedin master, and takes his training seriously. His final training is to ask the next women he encounters to share a specific sweet/pastry found in the 18th floor. Bell happens to run into Cassandra and daphne and thinks it will be easier to pass with someone he knows. Since Cassandra was there to eat the same sweet, he asks her to share it with him, and she shyly agrees. Cassandra eventually gets some cream on her cheek which bell rubs off, at which point Cassandra overheats and faints.
On his date with bell his master instructed him that the man must always arrive early and that under no circumstances should Bell arrive after Syr. So bell arrives 5 hours early to the meeting place, to the point that people are wondering if his date will ever show up. Syr shows up and they comment on their attire. Bell recounts that his master told him he had no sense of fashion so his mater picked only the best clothes for him (a suit). They go around the festival and eat, always holding hands, as this was also taught to him. Bell then asks what Syr wants to do and she tell him to take her somewhere. They end up going to the orphanage where they celebrate with the orphans and dance for a while.
All the while, hestia familia was suckered into working at the hostess of fertility to our back the waitresses for saving Bell in the deep floors. The waitresses end up leaving to stalk bell and Syr. Bell is acting extremely gentlemanly and anya notices and gives praising reviews. Hestia eventually sneaks out to search for bell and syr as well.
Syr gets mad at bell because he is not himself and she realizes that the whole date is him acting differently. They end up deciding to take the date in a different route since Syr is upset. As they are getting ready to go they run into Ais who just bought some special limited pumpkin jyagu maru kun, Ais is shocked to see them together and stops moving/being able to eat out of shock. Syr comments that they are dating and that they just came back from seeing the children which leaves Ais in even greater shock. Syr then drags Bell away.
Syr and Bell go into a shop where bell gets his invisibility cloak and other items and they escape from the Freya familia escorts who are watching Syr. Bell takes syr to a cathedral he really wanted to see because they open it up during the festival. They talk about the hero and story associated (it’s a love story) and bell buys Syr a souvenir which when put together with one for himself makes a moon (or something). So syr keeps one and he keeps one. They then head to the place where bell made dinner reservations which is a boat restaurant.
On the boat restaurant Syr is ecstatic while bell senses eyes on them, though not freyas familia as they are not hostile. In fact hestia and Ais met up earlier in the market. Hestia sensed that the date was worse than she thought so she told Ais they should team up since things were so bad. Ais and hestia had been stalking bell and Syr but also lost him when they went in the shop. Ais was shocked that she had lost his trace. Hestia then went back to her manor with Ais and searched bells room without permission. In his trunk she finds the ad for the boat with red circles and her and Ais head to the boat. Ais ends up paying for them to get on the boat to stalk bell and Syr. The hostess waitresses are also in bird disguised as men as they signed up as lat minute waiters for the restaurant.
As the boat is in the middle of sailing, they hear a sound and the boat shakes. Then an ice bridge to the boat appears and Freya familia raid the boat looking for syr and bell. Master (Hedin) is the commander and intentionally planned the raid so they wouldn’t be immediately found. At one point a Freya member comments that bell will/can be killed and Ais begins to fight with them. Syr knowing that the hostess waitresses are also on board asks them for help. Syr and bell then leave unnoticed and Syr jumps into the water with bell quickly jumping after her.
They get to land but they are both soaking. They spend some time talking on a bridge of heroes where bell contemplates Ais connection to Albert. They then head to a hotel/inn to dry up (syr led him to somewhere they would not be found). Syr showers and bells Buts clothes from the inn keeper while trying to get his thoughts straight as syr is showering. Syr comes out and bell then showers. When he comes out she is in a shirt with nothing under, because he took the women’s underwear in his anxiety/nervousness. He sits by her and she tries to seduce him. At this point it seems that syr may use some of her divinity as Freya, since Bell comments that the silver glow in the eyes were alluring and it took everything for him to resist. Eventually they sleep together (not doing anything) but syr gets up and leaves in the middle of the night. She leaves the souvenir he got her on the table.
Bell wakes up to find syr gone and begins to look for her. He takes her souvenir and goes out. He meets with welf outside the hostess who lectured him about making his feeling clear to her. She is not there so he goes to the town center to make contact with Freya familia. HEGNI Speaks with Jim but does not tell him anything. In the town center he sees Freya and He makes eye contact with ottar who points him in a direction. He heads off and eventually finds syr with a back pack. He gives syr her souvenir back and then Hegni arrives and tries to kill syr.
Eventually Ryu and the other waitresses arrive as well as the gulliver brothers and they tell him and Syr to run. Hegni deals with Ryu quickly and the gulliver brothers take 55 seconds with the waitresses except for Anya who simply moves aside after her brother Allen arrives.
Hestia and Ais are also nearing bell and syr and run into Hermes with awful. They hear the fighting and Hermes decides to interfere. He tells Ais to help him and that he will guarantee nothing will break out between Loki and Freya. As such, Ais and asfi engage.
Bell arrives at a abandoned location with Syr where she confesses and goes to hug him. Syr/Helun at this point is trying to kill bell, the backpack has a knife. Bell stops her and instead of responding to her confession asks her who she really is because she is not the Syr he knows. He tells her that when he first met her in the morning he detected killing intent form her. He also tells her that the souvenir he gave her was actually his and that hers had a saint engraved and not knight. Helun than tell him the real syr is in a spot on they know about and bell heads off.
After Bell leaves Helun is beat by Allen and the gulliver brothers. It does not seem like she is killed. She also admits that the whole point of her deal with Freya was to try to kill bell. She admits that she too has feelings for him, how could she not when she saw and felt what the goddess did. But that her loyalty and devotion to Freya were more important, and so she wanted to kill bell because bell was changing Freya. That she was scared that Freya would stop being the queen if bell was there. The reason Freya familia member beat her is not because they like bell but because in their familia nothing is more important than a command from Freya. No one in Freya familia would think of killing bell because of this. So Helun disobeyed Freya and that was unforgivable.
Bell meets with sry/Freya and she stated that it makes her happy that even though other girls like him he managed to find her. She confesses to bell and bell rejects her as it begins to rain.
Syr then leaves and is walking dejected and wet. At one point she calls ottar and this is where she tells him to get ready that they are going to steal him.
And that’s where it ends. There is a brief side story of Bell training with Hedin at then end as well.
Really grateful for that Timon16 for that summary.
It does seem like a mostly comedic volume but it does gradually change at the end. The anticipation for volume 17 is really high now. Plus the author already finished writing volume 17 so I expect it to come out near the end of the year or beginning of the next I feel
