Mobile Police Patlabor is the best 'Mecha' show I know, with the two OVAs being excellent and the main series being good too, but having also a few uninteresting/soso episodes. If you are in for a laugh or two, that is...

For more realism ,Armored Trooper Votoms (lots of OVAs though) , Gasaraki, Dougram , Dorvack & Uchuu no Senshi (Starship Troopers)

For more Takeyuki Kanda , Watch Vifam & Armor Hunter Mellowlink (since you got Dragonar & maybe the 08th MS Team pinned & Mellow link is a different approach)

For more Tomino ,Watch Brain Powerd

Also I'd Suggest Aoki Ryusei SPT Layzner(Cancelled at 32 episodes) , Heavy Metal L-Gaim & The Five Star Stories (for the Female Lead)

Thanks ^^, i'll be sure to check them out, well except for Brain Powerd, i liked Hime, i liked how the Mechs looked, but the dialogue was just to atrocious it ruined the whole show for me and i stopped watching after ep 7 i think...

Well, I could suggest Overman King Gainer. If I recall, wasn't that anime directed also by Tomino but had a lighter feel to it with it's very few character deaths. I would also suggest Betterman if you want an interesting mecha/psychological story.

Yeah Overman King Gainer is a Tomino show, and one of his best imo.

Their is though a difference between my thread and the one you linked, i also requested that some female interactions be present, that one only asked for mech animes. As for Gundam i saw it all, Macross most of it except for the first season and Macross Plus.

Go and watch 'Macross Plus' then, which isn't bad at all. BTW, I was half joking when recommending Patlabor.

Macross Plus? I have watched the OVAs which are pretty good and feels much more mature than I expected, although I have heard that the movie is better, since it does have new scenes, but I have not watched it myself. So seconding Macross Plus.

Well, I can recommend Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure; many hated it because it kind of ripped off Neon Genesis Evangelion, but in my opinion it's more of a parody and the atmosphere/feel of the show is totally different, it's kind of a mech show with some Tenchi Muyou touch, so to me it's a pretty enjoyable show with likeable female characters around the male protagonist.

I can also recommend these mech anime with female characters around the male protagonist: Vandread, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, Tenchi Muyou GXP (has "some connection" with Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure and the Tenchi Muyou OVAs).
