Are you certain these titles are being published as mangas?

Gungrave is a PS2 game made into an anime. I have not heard anything of it being made into a manga...?

With Chinese translated editions, you often get different titles depending on the 'locale': Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, or maybe even Mainland China. And very often the Chinese title has nothing in common with the original.

Examples:
Love Hina: 純情房東俏房客 (Taiwan); 新同居关系 (Singapore)
Oh My Goddess!: 幸運女神 (Taiwan); 我的愛神 (Hong Kong)

Quote:
A.I love you
A・I が止まらない = Dian4nao3 Qing2ren2 Meng4 電腦情人夢 (Taiwan)
Quote:
Gun Grave
Ugly and beautiful world
Am not aware that these two have comics.

You mean 火影忍者 ? They used the Hokage's translation instead. Better than 九尾狐 in terms of getting the attention of ninja crazy teens right?

Flame of Recca also used 火影忍者 for one publisher. But the rest used 烈火之焱 which was very accurate.

Doesn't anyone research online anymore? It took me just 15 minutes to dig up the following info by looking up Google, animenfo, Amazon, etc.

Quote:
Maburaho
Not a comic, but a novel series by Tsukiji Toshihiko 築地俊彦.

Quote:
The beautiful and ugly world
You mean Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai, or This Ugly and Beautiful World.
Comic does not exist in any language.

Tenjo Tenge
天上天下, of course.

HEY! Interestingly, Tong Li publishes Chinese versions of Japanese serialized comic magazines - including Margaret, so you can have the Chinese version of Maria-sama ga Miteru. It's called 瑪莉亞的凝望 ...

東立出版社 is the Taiwanese licensee.
玉皇朝出版集團 is the Hong Kong licensee.

Both are releasing under the title 鋼之練金術師.

Both have published Vol 1 & 2 already.
Both are releasing Vol 3 & 4 within the next 2 days.
Both are pushing their releases such that Vol 7 will be published by mid June.

This is my comparison.

Both are using the coarse paper (not the smooth ones)
Both have the paper book sleeves.
Both have the covers that the Japanese edition have (sleeve's cover & book cover are different, take off the sleeve to have a look ).
Both have the mangaka's thoughts on the sleeves translated.
Both translations are pretty accurate (but one suffers a few mistakes due to bad editing, see below)

Note that the names are all accented in their languages (Hokkien for Taiwanese, Cantonese for Hongkong)

東立出版社
Thicker, harder pages.
Some minor print issues (one two-page spread has the white center line showing)
Names accented in Hokkien, e.g. 亞力士 路易 阿姆斯壯
Uses 鋼仔 for 鋼の (Hagaren-no). Actually "Fullmetal Brat" kinda suits Edward, I like it

Price: NT$80

玉皇朝出版集團
Higher contrast (the black inks are blacker)
High quality print
Outer sleeve is embossed with silver! (the ink that is)
Cover is also embossed with silver!
Glossy colour print for sleeve.
Additional sleeve (I'll call it a collar which comes with all rated manga)
Rated for 18 & above...
A few errors in translation (they called Mustang a Lt. Col on one page when he was already a full Col)
They included colour artwork for the first page spread (pretty thin paper though)
Names accented in Cantonese, e.g. 賴斯黛
Uses 鋼之 for 鋼の

Price: HK$28
Release schedule is one day earlier than 東立出版社

Actually I would say both did a pretty good job. The errors are minor and few. They do not really distract you from reading. After reading, I still have a hard time deciding which publisher to continue with. 東立出版社 is cheaper (to me) and seems to be better in editing. 玉皇朝出版集團 however is ummm "oooo shiny" and somehow easier on the eyes in terms of print.

My advice, go to the comic shop and ask the proprietor to open one each and let you have a look. Then buy the one that pleases you more.

Are the guys that are asking for translations just trying to make conversations? If I remember correctly tenjo tenge's volume cover has the kanji letters on it, and you can find the chinese translation of full metal alchemist before its commerical intermission.
