Im also not a big fan of Jpop, for example the op of Bakuretsu Tenshi for me is horrible, but i like some of the songs, like the FMA ending. I suppose Jpop is too vast of a genre and has many different types of songs.
My favorite is the ending of Saint Seiya in the Asgard arc, that song (blue dream) is extremly beautiful, and the animation is nice and soothing, it leaves you in a good albeit a little sad (probably more like nostalgic) mood. The other endings and all the openings of Saint Seiya are also good, but the blue dream ending is the best for me. Others I've liked are the Last Exile's op and end ( I love both of these), Monster's op and end ( these ones can prove you don't need to be groose or display disturbing imagery to be extremly creepy) and the popolocrois ending, that song is fantastic. |

Wolf's rain op -- "Stray" and ed -- "Gravity". Both songs are wonderful, and it fits the theme of Wolf's rain so well. There are quite a few really catchy tunes feature in the series as well, like "strangers", "Heaven's not enough", "Tell me what the rain knows", no doubt Yoko Kanno is the best.
Turn A Gundam -- 1st OP -- "Turn A Turn", it has the kind of 70s retro Jpop feel that makes it so unique and fitting for a series like Turn A. The 2nd ED -- "Tsuki no mayu"" is so serene and elegant, as usual I love everything from Yoko Kanno. Gundam Wing -- both OP "Just Communication","Rhythm Emotion", OVA -- "White Reflection", Movie -- "Last Impression". Two-Mix produces some of the best songs in a gundam series. Last Exile -- OP "Cloud Age Symphony", ED "Over the Sky", I was really impressed the first time I heard them. You have to watch both the animation sequence shown in the OP and ED to fully appreciate how wonderful they are. |

Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai OP and ED: they match the series perfectly, the opening is gloomy and...cool, the ending is cheerful and happy (opening: "ugly/dark", ending: "beautiful/bright")
BakuTen OP: very very appropriate, and catchy Shingetsutan Tsukihime OP: i've never seen an OP before or since that matched the series better than this Madlax OP/ED: i can't say why exactly, but they're good Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito OP: i can honestly say i've listened to this song close to 100 times now Popotan: AI AI AI! "I Love You!" MAI MAI MAI! "My Darling" MII MII MII! "Help me!" POPOTAN POPOTAN POPOTAN!....POPOPO!. I'VE ONLY SEEN SIX EPISODES AND IT'S ALREADY STUCK IN MY HEAD Saishuuheiki Kanojo: (i just realized this is the 3rd long ass japanese title i've typed out...) the opening and ending are very depressing, and stick with you. The op was so sad it just added insult to injury during the last few episodes (i can't remember if they played it at the end of the last episode...) |

Actually, on tie with my previous post, I'd say that the ED for Scrapped Princess was pretty awesome. Like I said before, I'm really not into the whole J-pop-ness, and though I hated the OP for SP, I thought the ED was very creepy/medieval. Fit the series perfectly, in that it sounded very minstrel-ish.

Hmm.. I'm rather found of the Sou Nanda ED theme. It's a lovely song that seems entirely out of place given the series, but is still really enjoyable. As odd as it sounds, the Italian version ED theme for Tokimeki Tonight as well as the ED theme from Sumeba Miyako no Cosmos-sou Suttoko Taisen Dokkoida.
That song is just really addictive. For some reason I really enjoy those endings and the animations seem to fit them perfectly. >.<; |

Hmm so very good ones to choose from... Well my absolute favorite ones are these (animation not taken into account as I usually listen to the music but get cookies, tea, etc while the OP, ED runs so I know the song but not the animation)
OP 1. Full Metal Panic : "Sore Ga, Ai Deshou" : waaaaay ahead of all the others 2. Ai Yori Aoshi : "Towa no Hana" 3. Chobits : "Let me be with you" 4. Wolf's Rain : "Stray" 5. Shingetsutan Tsukihime : "The Sacred Moon" ED 1. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien : "Hoshizora no Waltz" 2. Wolf's rain : "Gravity" 3. Inu Yasha : "My Will" 4. SaishuuHeiki Kanojo : "Sayonara" 5. Ikkitousen : "Let me be with you" But there are so many great songs apart from these few listed here |

Lu...
The FMP:Fumoffu OP and ED were wonderful. They fit the light mood of the anime, and both also capture Chidori's feelings for Sagara. The full versions are even funner to listen to. Narutaru OP. Just because it is the most misleading "cover" of a book that I know. ROD OVA OP: This song is in a realm of its own. It is a jazz/funk/trance thing that sounds awesome and captures the mystery of the anime. ROD TV OP: Another wonderful piece. ROD TV ED 1 [Moments in the Sun]: Light. Lifts you up after the more depressing moments in the anime. ROD TV ED 2 [Confidence]: Very fun. Sung by the voice talent of Yomiko Readman [Reiko Miura] Tenjou Tenge ED: Very nice to listen to. I love that voice. |

Sad to say, a lot of those long running series with multiple OPs and EDs provide some of the best ones.
OP: Hikaru no Go - Get Over (1st OP - Favorite OP of all time) FMA - Melissa (1st OP) Onegai Teacher - Shooting Star ED: Cyborg 009 - Genesis of Next (globe makes good music) FMA - Kasenai Tsumi (1st ED) Dai Guard - Hashire Hashire Chobits - Ninyo Hime (2nd ED) Inuyasha - My Will (1st ED) If you want a fun ED, watch/listen to the ED of Keroro Gunsou. That's a fun ED. ^_^ |

Nothing, and I mean nothing, can possibly approach the hyperactive, energetic, clichéd, insane opening to VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire, "Miraigata Idol." It's like anime distilled down to purest form. To quote Cartman, it will warp your fragile little mind. And for endings, it don't get much more fun than "Junk Boy", the first ending for Maze Mega-Burst Space.
Some other ones I'm really fond of: KOR - "Orange Mystery" (OP) Saber Marionette J OAV - "Hesitation" (OP) Himiko-den - "Pure Snow" (OP) Yawara - "Stand by Me" (ED) Mizuiro Jidai - "Ano Koro no Youni" (ED) Akihabara Dennougumi - "Taiyou no Hana" (ED) Haunted Junction - "Tremolo" (ED) Gundam 08th MS Team - "Ten Years After" (ED) Of recent ones, FMP:F's OP and R.O.D TV's "Confidence" ED are probably the best ones I've seen in the last couple years. |
