I just downloaded and watched the new ep of Mamoru-kun. A pretty good episode (although not as good as some of the "Johann" arc that just ended).

Still, an enjoyable episode.

I'm sorry to see from their website that future releases from Toybox will probably be slower and they may not be able to keep up with their hoped-for weekly releases. Still, it was nice of them to give us the heads up on that, and real life stuff is certainly more important than fansubbing.

If you are talking about raws, isn't allowed if your talking about subbed, sorry to disappoint you but there aren't subs in english for mamoru but if you can read any other language try tokyotoshokan

Some of the people working on Mamoru-kun were busy the last month or two so the subbed episodes have been stalled at 16 for a while. The "missing member" just resurfaced the other day, though, so hopefully there will be more eps released some time soon. <fingers crossed>

Actually I put in a request with another subbing group and at least 1 member I know of seems interested in doing it. Just waiting on raws and approval from the higher ups. So here is my question to all. I know we are not supposed to share links in the forums so if anyone knows where I can get my hands on the raws please pm me with the info.

I remember an old post where where someone asked Shinsen to sub it and their answer was [Another Group is doing it]. /sigh. I wish they did pick it up.

An old post??? There was no old post because that's where I requested. Trust me I checked their forums. If you check their post Cyprene seems to want to do it. They just need the raws and approval from Vincent.

IIRC, they said no because, at the time, there was a group with a clear commitment to working on it. This, if you recall, was related to the other drama we had in this thread a bit later. But they may be inclined to change their mind now; who knows... There's a thread for stalled series that should be completed; that being said, two months isn't actually all that bad compared to others out there.

On Wikipedia and Animenewsnetwork, the episode titles lists end at episode 16, and of course the fansubs ended there as well. Does this mean the series was not completed for broadcast?

I liked it quite a bit.

No, there are 24 episodes, and they all aired. ANN and Wikipedia don't have the episode titles because apparently no one's bothered to translate them.

I'm not sure why this series is so unpopular that no one wants to pick off where ToyBox stopped. Personally I would rate this series 8-9/10 and one of the most enjoyable series of all time. Maybe the plot isn't that great but the innocent relationship that the main characters share is just cute, and I just like watching each episode.

If everybody wants a suggestion you could try and ask C1 anime they are very good. How good they finished Tokimeki Memorial Only Love when no one else could. They finish alot of series other's stop halfway.

Eh, if a new group takes it on, I hope they start with 17 first. They can do 1-16 after they finish 17-24.

Spoiler for Ep. 16: I was kind of supprised that Ayako's grandfather did not have a more significant impact on the releationship between her and Mamoru. I expected that (since he has been working with Johann) he would have been pushing her to accept his advances, or at the very least I would have expected him to require a little more convining that Mamoru is good enough for his precious grandaughter.
