And it's just a joke since they are both imouto voiced by Aya-nyan...(And the fact that Ayana is using the Kirino voice to voice Kotori) Quote:
P.S. I still don't understand about all the complaint of "abuse", we all know Kyousuke enjoys being slapped around by girls (In another word, he's a ドM). I mean, he's sexually harassing Ayase on purpose just so that he'll get his ass whooped

Well that's what keeps Ayase popular; she's only really knocking Kyousuke around because because he comedically harasses her all the time. Some people still don't like "abusive" females at all though, but she wouldn't still be popular if it weren't all for laughs.

Kyousuke does bring it upon himself a lot of the time, and it wouldn't be in character if the girls didn't beat him to a pulp everytime he does something weird (Even if they are overreacting )

So yeah, great episode. All of my what though. I've never been a big fan of Ayase but I have to admit that I enjoyed watching her this episode. The ending was especially hilarious. All in all, things are proceeding according to plan!
It's interesting to see this game brought up in Ore no Imouto (well, maybe less interesting and more inevitable), as I believe there was another anime this season that briefly mentioned a similar idea. I'm guessing that this kind of dating sim has become a trend as of late?

All in all this is a great episode, and I don't see the point from people complaining that this is adapted from drama CD/radio drama considering that most of those are canon in most light novel franchises as well.
Besides in this case, the event was also in directly referred to in the original LN as well at the beginning of V6. Makes hell a lot more sense than what they try to do with V3 back in S1 or EP12 due to limitation. Besides, the story is parody of Love Plus DS game which was the rage back 2-3 years ago and goes perfectly well with one of the series underlying theme of 2-D culture parodies. Spoiler for Minor story progression comparison, but just in case:

Anyway, Ayase is awesome. I'm sure she secretly likes Kyousuke (why else does she keep coming back to him, after all the things about him she claims to dislike?), but is too hung up with her love for Kirino that she puts herself in a state of constant denial. One thing is for sure: she can pull off the yandere look perfectly, as if she was born for the role (which she probably is). The second Kirino showed him that game, I knew he'd get addicted to it just as easily as her. Heck, even Manami and Ayase (seemingly) got hooked, but only Ayase chose a different route (one that closely fits her more).

At long last, a focused episode of Ayase
I was grinning when I saw her line on episode preview, and now after the episode itself Though her yan side is scare me again in the end part, but overall it was great episode. Hope we'll get more focused episode of her this season >3< Quote:
It doesn't help that author (and Bamco) supports the idea by giving Ayase dead end (and yandere yuri if route) as her bad end on Oreimo Portable, and take it to another level by giving her new 5 dead ends on the second game Agreed XD Who? Manaka on Love Plus? There's no yandere route, or any other route for that matter. On early part of Love Plus you need to raise the affection between three girls, and before the deadline you have to accept a confession from one girl (you can be asked before the deadline, reject the girl so you can get another one you want). On this first part you can make the girl to change 'personality' when they ask which type of girl you like the most (the personalities available, at least from the original game I played, is cheerful, caring/oneesan-ish, and gracious (this one is Manaka's default personality). After the confession you get end credit and after that, it's never ending game with the girl already become your girlfriend so you can go to school together, meeting on school or other place, go on a date on weekend, buy her a gift when there's special day (Valentine, her birthday, Christmas) based on real time. On the drama CD the Love Plus reference is its gameplay and as told, the seiyuu joke with Ayaka sounds exactly like Ayase (and Ayaka also says Manaka's signature like "Osu, Ayaka dayo, isshou ni ikou"), but on the anime since we can see the visual then they add the ribbon on Ayaka to make her look more like Manaka.

Well, and as I also pointed out in the other thread, the script for this anime episode itself was penned by the novel author (not the usual anime writer), so it's not like it's like this is out-of-character-canon at all. Whether he had always had this in mind or whether it was an idea "inspired" by the fandom, who knows. They're definitely having fun with it though.

The characterization issue is not her but Kirino, all tsun and no dere, but so far 2 episodes in they seem to fixed that unbalance. Quote:
But either way I don't see why some people complain about not going straight to V6, especially when their complains makes me even wonder whether they've actually read the LN. That being said, anyone know if S2 is planned for 1-cour or 2-cour? There are too much on my plate and haven't been really paying attention to details like those.

Also, the idea implies Ayase wants to silence Kanako? It seems Ayase doesn't want Kirino to know Meruru's identity is Kanako? Even Kanako would be too proud to mention about it....

I forgot how much I can't stand Kirino XD such a horrid girl. What she does reminds me of what my friend does in real life to a guy she likes. She has video chats when we go shopping and calls him non stop. Really great huh u_u He is also married and in the midst of possible divorce. Super awesome.

Those girls I've met and dealt with in my life so far
Not saying that there aren't females as violent (or even worse) than Ayase, but in general I think it's reasonable to assume that even continued harassment Kyousuke-style would not result in repeated roundhouse kicks ^_^ Anyway, for me Ayase and her development are the main reasons for me to watch this season. |
