I was kind of surprised that either Escha didn't go with Logy to Central, or he didn't pass up his promotion to stay with her, but then again that would have been a bit of a cliche so the fact they didn't do that was an unexpected plus in terms of wrong-footing our expectations.

All in all that was an enjoyable show. Nothing spectacular I'll admit, but just a good solid entertaining show that was fun to watch each week.

As far as I know, there is no romance in Atelier, only teasing.

I don't mind the no-romance, but I'm still kinda bummed that Logy only stayed long enough to get his groove back and then just went back to Central.

In the end, this series is nice light-hearted fluff, with some action in the end facing the final boss. Though Escha is a likeable character, I never really warmed up to her due to her voice-actress. What bothered me more, was that it was mainly about Escha's growth, with Logy merely tagging along. I never got the impression he was needed there, so his decision to return to Central was the best ending for me. But it was too rushed, it really needed a talk between Escha & Logy about his leaving.

On the whole, I thought it was a solid adaption. Not without its flaws, but still solid nonetheless. I do agree with those that felt as if the anime adaption kinda messed around a little too much throughout though. I would've preferred a little less silliness in exchange for a more fleshed out 2 episodes that more accurately depicted the final events of the game.

And this is just my own personal gripe, but I was disappointed with that final battle. When Logy came to Escha by the end of episode 11 asking for her to make something for him (that would require a lot alchemic skill) that would aid in the final battle, I had gotten so excited. I was really hoping that the final fight would feature an adaption of Logy's ultimate Tauzent Blitz attack, but I was wrong. In the end, it just looked like Logy's secret weapon was a basic Roten Blitz. But the actual attack didn't even look like it though. It produced some kind of beam instead. I really don't know what that was about. And to top it off, it was all just to give Wilbell (of all people) an opening to deal the finishing strikes. I mean, she's not one of the main protagonists of this game. Hell, she's not even supposed to be a canon part of that fight! She's DLC for crying out loud!!!! lol
(ok, so I'm a little bitter. I guess I can see why the anime adaption did it the way they did since those spirits of hers are supposed to be pretty powerful and all.)
I guess all I'm trying to say is that it felt anti-climactic for various reasons.

But whatever. All-in-all, it was worth a watch.

That being said, I agree the writers did play up her capabilities compared to everyone else (they looks o useless in comparison).

Maybe the company's trying to promote Wilbell, who is sort of becoming the mascot character of the Atelier Dusk trilogy. She's going to be playable in all three games and her development as a character can be seen throughout as well. Plus her body and outfit becomes more and more attractive lol.

Comparatively, none of the others really did much of anything. You had Linca who could be a decent Swordsman, but overall she didn't show herself off as being ridiculously powerful. No one really did any training, so it'd have been weird for them to have been cautious around normal monsters yet be able to fight this super alchemist final boss.

As it was, it was weird that Escha's brother/cousin suddenly became a fighter that could make energy shields, and Escha's kouhai had a shield that would make Captain America proud, and I forget if Nio did anything too or not, but if she did that'd also be weird. The best way to win from what was shown in the story was Wilbell's spirit lords, and anything else would've just been weird for the anime as it was presented.

Just finished the first episode, and really liking the show overall.

It's nothing amazing, but it's cute and relaxing. What intrigued me were the character designs, especially Logy's.

Ohhh! More good news!

This series deserved more attention in my opnion, but to be fair it also deserved a better end than it got - the last two eps were way too rushed, and in a lot of ways. Even so as a whole I thought it quite good!

I have played almost all the Atelier games so I should watch this which is part of the dusk series but it is the only one that's been animated so far.

(1) Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk
(2) Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky
(3) Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea

If you have played Ayesha or this game then you will already know what kind of being Cone is.

Marion is originally from Ayesha.

Fixing the broken windmill is also the 1st main task in the game.

Awin is a very good character, really good in battle.

Linca is also originally from Ayesha like Marion, those 2 are always together, she is also a glutton, she could absolutely demolish what Logy was served by the Duke.

Katla sells a lot of good and important stuff.

Nio is Ayesha's sister, Wilbell is one of the best characters in Ayesha.

Unfortunately she is DLC only for Escha & Logy which is a shame considering how good she is.

There's part one of the tablet.

Great work there by Logy to get the bitter leaf, I am terrible at climbing and probably wouldn't get very far.

Awesome, Escha saved the village.

Reyfer is decent in battle, really good area support attacks from the back line.

Harry is a good guy, he is from Ayesha and helps her out a lot.

Threia has quite a lot of useful skills that she can use in battle.

That colossal thing is the boss Frigate, pretty tough as it can heal itself and does powerful attacks and has high defense.

What Escha used was an Omega Craft, one of the best bomb you can synthesize via Alchemy.

Escha is much better at drawing than me.

That was a lot of fun watching that tail, everyone just kept coming to that area and getting possessed by it except Clone of course.

Pretty cool by Nio getting a big table like that so she sit down with her new friends.

Lucille is very useful in battle, she can heal everyone and revive people from KO.

Yes that is correct, the Homunculi like candy and sweets and always want it as payment, they call them sparkles.

Hooray for Lucille, always happy to see someone's hard work pay off.

Mario isn't the only one in the Atelier universe who works behind a desk, like to get drunk and talk about finding a husband.

Lol at Solle, they all deserted him.

Linca is definitely much better at eating than cooking.

Reyfer did a good job though, I don't think I could get through 1 of those enormous meals.

I'm sure Escha will do a great job following in her mothers footsteps.

Yeah I had a feeling Wilbell used magic on the cookies the moment Linca said they all tasted different.

Micie is a DLC character like Wilbell if you also want to use him.

Quite the choatic episode with those other 2 Linca's around, No.1 is especially dangerous at times.

I wish No.3 luck i finding their parents.

Nice to see all the rest of the gang supporting our Linca.

So even Wilbell knows Marion's weakness, it was like taking candy from a baby to get her to come along.

The 4 items Logy & Awin brought were Crystal Ball, Blaze Ore, Pendelock & Abrasive.

Yeah no surprise the fire spirit's hands wold be too hot to handle lol.

I thought one of the girls might accidentally throw a craft during the end there.

Classic Indiana Jones there at the start with the boulder trap.

Keithgriff is originally from Ayesha and is a rather important character.

Very clever by Marion to that of that.

That was a pretty good fight while it lasted, either way it worked, now they just have to figured out how they will get to the unexplored ruins.

That is quite the sad past that Logy has, he feels the burden of his past actions every day.

Thankfully Escha was able to get him back on the right track and Awin is also doing his best.

Always handy to have a spirit friend, you never know you we might need their help.

Poor Reyfer lol, it was funny how Linca just casually said good to him.

Alright part 1 done, the hard part is getting to the ruins.

Beautiful moment at the end with the letter from Logy's friend.

Quite the dangerous trip just to get to the ruins.

And there is Flameu and her pet Gullveig.

We also get to see the full tablet and the secret behind it.

If you play Ayesha you will learn everything about Nio.

Great story, very heartwarming.

Now it's back to the ruins to try and save Flameu.

Oh no Clone got hit, please be alright.

No surprise that Wilbell got the pact with the fire spirit, saw her heading off in that direction earlier.

Ah all the feels in this episode brought me to tears.

Really awesome to watch this after playing the game, enjoyed every minute of it.

The 2 girls at the end are the next game, Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, Shallistera & Shalotte.

9/10
