I'm just content Shirou is there at all (and in the top 3 to boot). Looks like ufotable really are succeeding at making him more appealing to audiences.

I don't think the movie will do that because of his choice in HF.
There is a reason why HF was not adopted into anime so far while Fate and UBW are.

Do you have evidence about Japanese VN readers disliking "Shirou's decision" in HF? If not, then I see no reason to believe that, actually since HF is more popular than Fate at least (not sure about UBW), I'd say most people are completely OK with his choice.
