One of the thing I actually loved and worshiped on Kamachi is he don't do the stupid training and shounen power ups.

So, js06 just released translation for an interview regarding the movie, and OH WOW

They referred to Stiyl as “teacher”, so do they respect Stiyl?
Kamachi: No, they have actually taught themselves magic. However, they were stuck at some point and plotted to add rune magic in to solve that problem. They refer to Stiyl as “teacher”, but not out of respect. They’re making fun of him. (laugh)

Even in-series, Stiyl is the laughingstock

poor styil not only is he like a punching bag for touma but now he seems to be getting laughed at by little young kids(though he is fourteen so i can't really say much about that right their).

izzard looks young anyways. i thought he was at least 20 or 21 so not by much of a difference since allot of people can look like a year or two older then their age even by three years. but styil oh god styil looks like 10-12 years older then he should be.

Yes they mostly are, ... >.> ... <.< ... >.> ... hahem ... krista is cute as F**k though, probably one of the cutest girl of the season with the Henneko girls.
But unlike those examples above, Index characters that look quite older than they sould are always stated to be that sort of peculiarity in-story.
