I feel the same way. I had fun when the show went full on sentai, but the show is at it's best when the focus is on Masayoshi, Goto and the other central characters and their relationships.

Make it all come full circle.

The moment when Goto went back to the bench, while Mari was going away depressed...then he started typing on his phone again, but seemingly aware of how pointless it was, was strong. Not to mention Masayoshi realizing how powerless he was.

That's him.
The interesting thing about that scene is that he was so entranced by Flamenco that someone had to pull him by his arm to run away with the others, or something like that. The scene did put some emphasis on him, back then i thought he would be a recurring character, but now i had completely forgotten about it already.

I don't know the source, but the wikia says Goto's 24, and Sumi 28. So, yeah, if it's true, they weren't ever classmates.

wow. Just watched ep 18 and 19.

Space Final Flamenco was badass.
Laughed at the meta of 'the universe' saying that he can end his adventures here, and it be recorded as entertainment for all the alternate universes to watch, further going with the theme that all the super hero shows we watch are in fact real.

Poor Goto-san. T_T I like how the actions of the characters are used to portray the scene instead of having to use words for everything. Its rare that episode direction is able to pull it off.

The kid at the end, I was ready to finish off with realworld problems to the end, then that kid had to mess everything up. Here we go again...grr..

Ah, I see. Interesting indeed. And here I thought the rest of the show was going to be slice of life.

I wouldn't have minded more slice of life, since one of my favorite moments in the whole series is us (along with Mayoshi and Mari) finding out about Goto's girlfriend. It's so sad and tragic, but also has no closure.

His mom seems really nice though ^_^
Plus this opens of the possibility of Goto being with someone else.

that was really interesting. and I want to congragulate the person who realised the self texting thing. ever since I saw his post I thought the same thing. this episode was really good.

I hope they tell us what happened to Gotou's girlfriend. It happened when world was normal so it may be outside of Masayoshi effect. from what I've seen she may come back in a flashy way. at least I hope she is still alive.

She will come back of course, but not necessarily as a villain.

So I'm going to drop the "Sumi is Goto's old girlfriend" theory since that would indeed require a retcon now, and I'd rather not have a retcon be necessary (this anime has been impressively tight when it comes to not needing retcons).

Good news here is that this makes it more likely for a Hazama/Sumi relationship to blossom.
Agreed. This show has never needed a retcon up till now. Considering all the story elements & plot lines they incorporated, you'd think they'd need some retcons, but no they didn't. They tied everything together & even debunked the theory that Masa was dreaming by confirming that everything is 100% real.

As a MasaxSumi shipper, I'm really hoping the ship happens, I've been rooting for them for awhile now, but was in doubt due to Mari. However, since Mari's eyes are set on Goto & Sumi still isn't interested in Konno, MasaxSumi ftw!!

An older post of mine concerning shipping: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...11#post4999011

That was back when this show didn't really have any shipping going on, but now its starting to pick up & me likey.

This series does slice of life right. When it was slice of life in the early episodes, the character development was amazing, I'll be honest, it took me awhile to get accustomed to the Sentai setting & I even bitched about it a few episodes back, but now I can say that I'm enjoying the show again & will gladly ride this train to the final stop.

Btw, just remembered an older post & had to mention something on it:

This is outrageously funny because its kinda true. Just replace the Flamenco Prime part with "The Universe's Will". Props to you for making a totally accurate post without even being serious.

The accuracy of that picture is amazing & that pretty much sums up Samumenco in a nutshell.

Not to sound like a broken record, but that captures Samurai Flamenco so, so well .

It was nice, after the Tokusatsu action of the last few arc, to see Samurai Flamenco kinda return to its roots as a more character driven show. It's still a heck of a lot of fun though .

Well, we finally get the reveal regarding Goto's girlfriend, and it turns out a lot of peoples guesses were spot on. We even had Goto with the flowers from first opening, which was one of the major clues that led people to suspect something was off about her in the first place .

Still, seeing Goto like that was quite the sad sight. It's ironic that someone who seems far more in touch with reality than the Flamenco's could turn out to have his own, deeper, issues beneath the "mask." I genuinely hope the best for Goto, and that he can get his own happy ending by the end .

I was pretty surprised to see that Mari might just have some genuine feelings for Goto, regardless of whether he's in uniform or not, and I'm quite interested to see how this will develop. Poor Moe though .

I really have to wonder, though, about what happened to Goto's girlfriend. She just mysteriously disappeared, and way before Masayoshi's wish started altering reality. I could see a Jetman scenario happening, or something even weirder, though whatever happens, I hope the revelation doesn't shake Goto up too much .

It's nice to see the other Flamengers are doing well. I especially liked seeing Soichi become the Gavan Type G to Joji's Gavan, and Sakura dealing with her unrequited love .

While I was expecting some threat to pop up near the end to force Masayoshi to become Samurai Flamenco again, I wasn't expecting it to be the kid from episode one. Now everything's come full circle. I don't think Sawada is just another result of the "Universes Will" granting Masayoshi's wish, since they met before Masayoshi made it. I think he just idolizes Samurai Flamenco and took the wrong kind of lesson out of Masayoshi's speech. It'll be interesting to see how Masayoshi fares now that he's going up against a more realistic threat again, and I'm curious to see if he might just go back to his original, cheap, Samumenco suit to settle things.

I wonder if the reason the manga is named Another Days it's because it focuses on the alternative world's Masayoshi. It is similar yet there are one or two differences.

Yeah, by now I'm pretty sure that Masayoshi is the casualty conductor.
Ie: He's the Suzumiya Haruhi of this world
