The second half of the song makes it sounds like a lullaby more than a religious song. Especially the part "itoshi itoshi waga ko yo", phrases similar to this turn up often in lullabies. I have no knowledge of shintoism or shinto songs so I can't say anything about the first half of the song.

I love the song and all but when I watch the actual PV, I'm not looking at the pictures but in a way just listening to the music for some reason. When I actually see the OP for kannagi i pay attention to the pictures though.
Anyways the piano version is just pure win! I need to get my hands on it |

I've got a collection of shinto chants and such... I can safely say none of it sounds quite as melodic or tuneful. Yet the ED is a chant and a devotional to the gods for the most part and the rhythm and the lyrics are functionally similar in some aspects to ritual song. Many chants are simply a call to say hi to the gods and hope that everyone's harmony isn't disturbed. Folk music at shinto festivals tends to be more catchy and dance-able.

I'm counting the minutes until the ED single comes out. (And just to be sacreligious, I deleted the OP mp3 after only playing it twice, this is one series where I just think the OP sucks. Which is rare for me who seems to spend all my time listening to anime themes!

Other than the ED song, I really like the second track "Kioku no Keshiki". It's just like in the OP single, whereas "Shiawase no Sagashi", calm and soothing, was a nice complement of the ultra-energetic "motto hade ni ne".
Tomatsu Haruka is really something. I would never have thought, when I heard that high pitched, clumsy yet so cliché voice for the first time, namely Lala Satalin Deviluke. At that time spring had just sprung, but boy how much the 18yo Haruka has grown and how much talent she has shown in these months, either as dubber and singer. She has a brilliant future in front of her.

I've been listening Nodame's ending song all day (soooooooooooooooooo addictive...) that I sort of forgot about the ending song for this particular anime being released today. I agree with Pelli, Tomatsu Haruka's singing abilities do not disappoint at all and I hope to see her grow as well. As far as the song goes, I was expecting a lot more for the full version (don't really like the latter half), but these songs tend to take a while before you end up listening them all day; so maybe my opinion will change later on. Still, the mood of this song is simply great, and in my opinion, is slightly better than the opening song itself.

Full ED was great. Better than the OP, if not simply for the fact that the ED fits the anime better.
The drama CD was great too! Adapting the Spoiler:
Though I wanted to see that animated... Ahh... Want to go back in time... Summer... SUmmErR~~
