Railgun is so freakin' popular...

It is near the end, after Seitoukai.
But wow, the temperature difference.

For Seitoukai, the comments are mostly stuff like:
"Disappointed..."
"It was just hype"
"Nomination for worst this season"
etc.
But then Railgun comes on...

"UOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
and
"KITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
etc.

Of course, I would expect nothing less of Misaka Mikoto and her friends (primarily Kuroko, oh the fun, sexually harassing scenes). It's one of the few animes I'm interested in this season

I believe that means 4 sets of ~12 episodes, i.e. a ~50 episode series.

Nah, it would be completely atypical for any of these production companies or TV stations to make a show like this 4-cour in a row. In fact, I don't think J.C. Staff has worked on any show longer than 26 episodes for over 7 years now. Plus I think the amount of late-night anime that ran longer than 2-cour can probably be counted on one hand (I can only think of one, personally).

I think that, rather than a rumour, this sounds more like some people joking around about the pacing and saying sarcastically "at this rate, it's not just 2-cour, maybe it's going to be 4-cour?!". The phone call to the TV station said 24 episodes, so that's still the base assumption at this point until we see the DVD/Blu-Ray plans.

I think I know why I like rail gun so much w/ Misaka as the main character. It's because, well, Misaka looses. Unlike the other show, you really don't know if Misaka is going to win or if she's going to loose. It's pretty interesting in that way.

Well...you do know if she's going to loose but I rarely see storyline play that much where everyone knows the hero will loose in the end.

its hard to imagine railgun for 24 episode. I can't think of other arcs about mikoto than the condensed aim and accelerator. Unless they do the novel further than vol 8+. But it will ruin index if they plan season 2...... its confusing. Hope they will lay it well.

50 is a no no. Unless they merge the story of two. That's a no no.

The GL-ness is getting unbearable here, though i am watching it for the sake of Misaka. Kuroko, you really need to keep your emotions under control XD. All those seductive pantsu simply isn't the right way to get Misaka's attention. Next episode! New character is coming hehe. Can't wait. oh, and touma did appear in this episode, sort of.
