Love Live Life! 02 - Strumming the Goddess' Melody
Seeing Umi and Kotori play off each other reminds me that, in another world, they were the Furutani sisters. Umi's doing a great job being the Mio of the group, complete with poetry that makes for good lyrics. The μ's/Muse bit of wordplay in how they came up with the group name was pretty clever, thanks to Maki. I've been interested in Maki since before the show debuted, partially because of her voice actress' name. "Pile". Not just because this is her first major role, but because that's such an unusual name, a semi-common English word written in English... wonder how she came up with that. Maybe someone else already was using her real name. The transition from Maki's song to the ending montage was great, as was the quick cut to Honoka's childhood. After this episode, I totally ship NozoMaki. Nozomi's the right mix of reliable and eccentric, if the tarot card scene didn't prove that already. This show's got a lot of heart. Looking forward to seeing how the girls do as actual idols. |

2nd Episode was very nice.
This show has a lot of the same charm that Saki has, imo. A nicely diverse cast of characters where all the major characters have distinctive personalities, yet they're all endearing in their own ways. The Honoka/Maki scenes are actually my favorites, as I like how the two play off of each other. Maki challenges Honoka in a way that few other characters do, while Honoka also has this way of overcoming Maki's "tough shell" that's rather cute to watch. Excellent show so far. I've very happy with the pace. I'm glad that becoming school idols appears to be at least as important as actually being school idols. I'm very glad that it's going to take more than just two episodes to "get there".

Well series has right energy and good flow very easy to watch. Honoka and Umi VAs doing ok but rest i guess it is too much to ask from inexperienced talento/idols. Will take time to get used to. Liked that unlike Idolmaster they write their own lyrics and music.
Anyway I really wanna know how other girls gonna join the unit. The school seems to be brimming with activities for institution which is about to be closed. |

Just wanted to add to my rant i really hope that girls are good balanced and their "roles" are not exclusive to one girl only. Simply judging from this episode Maki-composer, Kotori-designer, Honoka-chreography+plus unofficial leader, Umi-lyrics+"Honoka's breaks", does not leave much for other girls to stand out. Especially the two shorthaired girls dont stand out much visually. I'm especially intrigued by Niko; wether her being the most popular girl is based on her looks solely.
