what is a .sfv file?

i'm currently dling KKJ 35 and i notice that it is a batch torrent so i check and i see this .sfv file type, what is it for?

sfv = Simple File Validation.
They give a CRC32 sumcheck (i.e. confirm the file hasn't been corrupted).
You can ignore those files as far as playback is concerned. If BT ran the checksum with no problems, it means the files are OK.
The sfv file can be deleted if you wish.
