Boondocks Season 3
I didn't know if I should of put this in general anime or what but the preview for the 3rd (and final ) season of the Boondocks is out and it looks amazing. The production value looks through the roof. Really looking forward to this, probably out of anything else this year.

I've never heard or seen of this in my life, but it definitely looks like something to check out (and it seems to have established its fanbase for ages) Do you have any info on the producers, creators VA and production? Is it a straight to DVD american animation only or is there some Japanese influence at all? (Like Afro Samurai)

It's been known for awhile that a Season 3 was going to be released sometime early-Summer/late-Spring 2010 (McGruder said as much more than a month ago), but it is nice to see an official trailer, especially one that looks so good and is wonderfully accompanied with Jay Electronica's "Exhibit C" .

Even though I already knew about the return of this series, I am still really excited after seeing the trailer.
On a some what unrelated note, does anyone else think that the kid from the new Karate Kid looks like Riley? He would be perfect if they ever made a live action movie.

It's about freakin' time.
This is really the final season? While I can't say I'm not disappointed to hear that, at least McGruder is savvy enough end on a high note before the series sours, although most of the bases that the Boondocks touches is almost surplus in supply. |

The VA cast is very solid. You have veteran live-action actors like Regina King and John Witherspoon headlining. And the rest are American voice actors with the occasional special guest rapper or comedian popping in. And then there's Samuel L. Jackson. . . Quote:
As for the cartoon, it was animated by Koreans (Madhouse did animate some segments of Season 2), but it has some Japanese influence, with a couple of shout outs to Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo throughout the series. The issues and cultural references are American. As for DVDs I don't know about where it's been released other than the US and Canada, but I don't think it's been made available in Japan, Korea, or anyway where else across the Pacific other than Russia. It has aired in various South American and European countries, though. This is seriously my favorite animated series (Western or Japanese) ever. Edit: It has aired in Japan, from exactly three years ago. It don't know how it did, I think some humor may be lost in translation. Last edited by Dilla; 2010-04-08 at 18:42. |

I hope Luna survived somehow. She was a great character.

Bout time, but again WHY is this the final season? The $hit has been on hiatus so long over-saturation can't be the problem...
After watching the fantastic preview (which if i ain't ANIME, I don't know what is...It's certainly not western animation or imitation), it seems like this season is gonna be so over-the-top controversial that it will have to end...Damn, America needs Uncle Ruckus...
