Good episode. Everyone was great, but I think I had a wee bit too much of boners because of Saeko and the girls. And it wasn't healthy.
One minute you settle down, next minute you're aroused. Put some more clothes on, Saeko. That also goes for the rest of you girls.
I'm telling you, I'll die more from ecchi than zombie stuff.

It's being pretty faithful to the manga so far... some shots are pin point accurate. Kudos for that, Madhouse.
They just add small stuff sometimes.
Like, in the manga, only Saeko gets on top of the Humvee ... Rei and Saya remain inside, beside Shizuka.

I guess anime Hirano was much luckier than his manga counterpart

Despite the abundance of fanservice, it's not really like that... which is surprising.

On a somewhat related note, a good number of manga readers are just waiting for a certain chapter or two to get animated. (ahem)

Haha. What more is there to say? This episode proves to be as much of a major turning point for the anime as the chapter was for the manga, only better, thanks to the gravity-defying fan service.

Much as I hate to admit it, I agree. (I'm still looking forward to when she becomes much more interesting though, and not just for her tight figure and naughty G-string. )

More importantly, however, this was the precise moment the story finally clicked for me when I was reading the manga:

Best quote of the episode (and that's not because I'm biased).

As someone else observed, this chapter/episode marked a decisive moment for the team, as they realised at last that they risked losing more than their lives during the zombie apocalypse; they risked losing their very humanity as well.

Long story short, the uncomfortable truth is that some lives are worth more than others. Even if we were to disregard cold-blooded utilitarian equations, the fact remains that we all unconsciously hold some values to be higher than others, one of them being the instinctive need to protect children. We're all biologically hardwired that way.

Actually, the production team has carried out a major rearrangement of certain scenes, a move which I feel is immensely for the better, as it opens up room for what I believe will be an extremely climactic season finale. (Had the anime stuck faithfully to the manga, frame for frame, there's no way the anime could have accommodated my preferred ending.)

So, yes, major praise for Madhouse. This is the way to adapt manga; not to copy it blindly, but to tweak it where necessary to best suit the animated medium.

I agree. I've been following the manga for years, but I feel this anime adaptation actually exceeds the source content.
Not only is it doing it justice, it improved it greatly.

And added an awesome Soundtrack. That Episode makes me want to have the OST so bad.

I feel the same way as well. Madhouse is doing an excellent job.

For the episode itself, it was overall great. Lots of good shots of Saeko in this one.

The only part i'd say the manga has over the anime would be the art.

But yeah let's just hope Madhouse don't completely screw up the ending as they're known to do. I don't want something like that messing with this perfect package of a series.

I do hope that they tweak certain scenes later on to make things flow more sensibly than some of the developments that occurred in the manga.

I think that the director may have a good stopping point in mind.
