Amber only showed up in a flashback to ep16. Heck, for that case, I don't even remember seeing Yin or Misaki this episode.

These are questions i wouldn't mind answering, though i can't see it happening here --- who knows, Bones might do something after the series.

How to be a contractor
I may be satisfied if they fleshed out w/ current explanation, contractor by losing your heart, doll by losing your soul, losing your dreams and you loose your mind (insane contractors from page 1, post 1).

I think that contractors and dolls lose hearth, soul and memorys in some point, but, they can recover them with the time. Thats why people thinks that they have no emotions, because maybe a lot of people haven´t see tha they can recover humanity.
I was thinking in something else, i think that Havoc give us some weird information because she said that Hei was the Kuro shinigami before became a contractor..... so.. Hei was a murdered when he was like..12 years? (the flash back in episode 12 show`s him like a normal cute 12 yearl old boy) __________________ Quote:
So, as it will be 25 episodes, i think that we could watch an arc with 3 episodes. But its o.k to have an one episode arc.. i guess... Thank for the spoilers aaddvark!!!

Contractors clearly have hearts and feelings. So do Dolls. They've just been repressed somehow.
I'm getting tired of seeing them being exploited. Left alone, most would probably just sit at home living peacefully and occasionally get together to appreciate each others' emo. It's clear Shihiko doesn't want to do any of this. |

At this point, I think most of contractors are near to emotionless, but they have emotions, like dolls. There are especial ones who have full emotions, empathy and are not so selfish, and I think Hei (especially), Amber or Novenver are three of them.

At the very start of the series, Contractors were introduced as being those who gained a power, but lost their conscience. Not emotionless, but souless. Don't care about anyone but themsevels, will murder and lie if it helps them, and have no loyalty but to themselves, hence they will immediately betray their side in order to avoid death or torture. However, this has been repeatedly shown to be absolutely false -- Hei of course being the obvious example, but others too: November protects Misaki, Nick (the astronomer guy, right?) expresses a desire to follow his dreams with his sister, Havoc regains her powers but doesn't use them to defend herself, etc. And now, the cult leader Contractor calmly accepts her death.
Now, there is obviously something wrong with them that makes them, but they are FAR from being the monsters everyone makes them out to be. That could be the final lesson that resolves everything: people just want to loved and understood. And the Dolls being just empty vessels for the ghost or spirit or whatever it is that comes from the Gates -- proven nonsense. Yin remembers her past life, and is able to express emotional responses to those around her, and otherwise displays a functional indentity. The Doll from the last arc even smiles under her own volition, and moves under her own will. |
