Hey, they did it with Lucky Star.

I can see them rotating ending themes, m'self.

There's only been one ED theme single announced. I highly doubt it's going to change.

With a full music video each week...while that would be awesome in and of itself (and generate a huge amount of CD and DVD sales), that would be an awful lot of animation work. Lucky Star (first half) was just singing behind a closed door. And the second half was mostly live action.

Plus that would be a lot of new songs, where as Lucky Star was mostly recycled songs from other shows.

Macross this is not.

They're all a couple of years past loli and they don't have a loli physique.

Yui's dojikko nature may be a little childish but she's still not loli. She's just super cute lol

Her sister (what little we've seen of her) doesn't look all that much younger than Yui. (I get the impression that Yui is a first year high school student.) Her sister is wearing the same uniform Yui is in a graduation photo, so I assume she can't be any more that three years younger and in middle school.

lol you mean "she's super duper cute"

cause OMG if I ever met a lass in RL that was like her I would pounce on her there and then......and just hug her to death .....I'm being totally serious

Only other poeple I apply this to is Tsukasa from LS and Elsee from TWGOK

and its pretty obvious

Yui = Tsukasa
Mio = Kagami
Ritsu = Konata
Tsumugi = Miyuki

Nah... it so different...
Mugi-chan is ojou-sama but she not dojikko...
Ritsu not like Konata at all...
Yui is super duper cute and her personality is innocent + funny
Mio is not Kagami... *she have phobia to scary story... but she a bit tsundere too*

Actually, I see more parallels between this and Manabi Straight:
Manabi = Yui
Mei = Mio
Momoha = Tsumugi
Ritsu = Mutsuki

Of course, Manabi Straight has five main characters...

its not a direct comparison of characters, I wouldn't compare there every individual trait between them, that never works but more a general comparison. I find it hard to explain why in words so I'll leave it there till I can figure how to write it out

I see some similarities with Lucky Star girls but also differences.

I just know that Yui is the new Dojikko goddess, her innocence level is also quite godly.

See, this is why otaku scare many people. Terms like "innocence level".

I actually think she's too innocent. I'm about her age, and I have to say, real high school girls are very rarely that sweet and innocent. I'm sure everyone here knows this, of course, but I find it kinda ridiculous at just how innocent some anime girls are portrayed. For example, Mei-chan from CLANNAD was 14 and had the innocence level of an 8-year-old with the maturity of someone far older than herself. I love Kyoani, but it seems to be a trend that the girls in their series don't act their age. I guess it's another one of the whole "idealized girl" thing, but I think I would like to see them act more realistically. So far, Mio seems the most realistic.

This is anime for you. It's not just a KyoAni thing. Indeed, you shouldn't be blaming the studio that only adapts material and rarely makes up their own.

lol there's a level in everything, people do tier lists as well.

There's just something in humans that makes us like to rank or measure up stuff, list them in order and organise them.

Its human nature

Well, when I was in secondary school, I had a couple of friends who real innocent dojikkos until the syllabus had sex education which reduced their innocence levels, but they are still dojikkos till this day

I think that its a "moe" thing actually. Paradise Kiss had female characters that actually act their age.

Actually, claiming a 2D character as a wife is even more scarier.

I was going to say something in my above post about "Japanese girls being innocent due to a lack of sex ed" but I figured that might have been construed as racist...

That too. I find that a lot of people panic or get angry when characters either aren't innocent or actually have sex, though.

There was that whole 2ch thing over Kannagi, I recall.

Yes, yes it is. I was hoping to avoid that being brought up.

You're right, I guess it's a general anime thing. At least Kyoani executes it better than most studios, and their characters tend to be more adorable and lovable. Or, to some, more unlikable because they're so adorable.
