I really don't think so.

The shortest male in the original cast is Kunikida at 166 cm, and he's pretty similar in build to Mitsuuru.

Itsuko is, at most, the same height as Tsuruya or Ryoko (the tallest girls) at 160 cm.

So I really can't see Itsuko being taller than Mitsuuru.

Don't forget that this is Japan and people are really short.

If Itsuko was 170 cm she's be as tall as Kyon.

I also aways pictured Mitsuuru as shorter then her. He clearly haven't hit his grow spurt, while she, well, had. Girls mature earlier then gboys, after all, is not unccomon in the age having girl taller.

Ypur point is very good, tough, so I guess you are right. I would say Mitsuuru is a little smaler the Kunikida, to emphasise his girlness, and that Itsuko could be taller then Ryouko and Tsuruya. Still, they would be, at most, the same size.

Although shota does not mean midget, I cannot help but associate the two with Mitsuru. Maybe, to make Haruki's pranks more "sinister".
