No, I'm not sure where to put it. It's one of those things that's probably mostly an anime spoiler but could also be a manga spoiler... and a healthy dose of speculation. It's all based on the episode descriptions for the upcoming anime eps. (And the grainiest photo ever.) There was a healthy discussion about it already on 2chan and a JP blog (which copied the 2chan discussion before the thread died.)

If Saki had its own sub-forum, I'd know exactly where to put this. As it stands... I have no idea.

What I've learned from Chapter 52:

Okay, but it's actually about future episodes past 19...

Spoiler for Episodes 20-23, manga spoilers as well.:

The grainy photo on 2chan is actually a scan of the descriptions of episodes 20-23 of the anime. (And it's in bad shape, but kind of/sort of legible if you squint.)

Anyway, according to the descriptions of episodes 20-23, and based on the discussion about it on 2chan and one of the blogs, the future arc of the anime is going to focus on the individual tournament, as well as some anime-original characters in the individual tournament. The Kiyosumi players will be competing in the tournament, so that's leading to speculation that maybe Kiyosumi won't win the team tournament.

EDIT: So much for *that* speculation. lol. But it does look like the anime will focus on the individual tourney.

Of course, it has also led to rampant speculation that the anime-original stuff is going to suck. As is usual from rampant speculation. lol. Naturally, whenever you drive off of the map, people get nervous.

Looks like episode 20 is going to be called "Shimai" (sisters) and is going to take place at a pool. (What a surprise.) The rest are all related to the individual tournament.

Looks like ep 21 is called 追想 (tsuisou), or retrospection. (Where the individual tournament starts.)

Ep. 22 is called "Yakusoku" (promise), and 23 is "Honki" (serious). I could try to read them more closely, but I like my eyes not bleeding.

Sigh... I would so love for Yumi to just head bump that... argh... that's what happens when you get so emotionally involved with a series. I hate to love it

I'll put the blog stuff in spoilers, just in case (not like anyone didn't read it, but just as courtesy.)

The stuff I found amusing was that Koromo once again didn't sense a big enough hand to beat her coming from Saki. She plays the 1-pin because she's playing to win her way. She doesn't even think of defense.

Saki tells Koromo as she kans the the 1-pin, that if this was a ron, it would be her (Saki's) loss, however...

Meanwhile Touka can't understand why Saki kans the 1-pin. Like Koromo, she can only see a haneman, max. She still doesn't get the freakyness of Saki.

Then Saki explains the same rule Yuuki explains in the anime in ep 18-- whoever gets kan'd on which leads to a rinshan tsumo has to pay for it like a ron in this tournament.

The commentators discuss how the rule is weird, and Fujita doesn't like it. Koromo uses a word I can't find, but she feels like she plays like she always does, yet now she thinks she's going to lose.

And then she does.

Maho also has some love advice at the bottom of the page which is funny. Basically it's encouragement to people to go confess, even if they get rejected.

Imho you should change San An Kou for San Ren Kou in your han list, if i remember correctly San An Kou is closed hand only.

The "kan-ed" 2-pins, 3-pins, together with the 3 4-pins made up the San An Kan/Kou.

The "kan-ed" 1-pins, 2-pins and 3-pins made up the "SanKanZi/San Ren Kou".

Another 3 kans from the dead wall in a row? I want Saki to learn some new tricks instead of just repeating her old ones. This hand was almost identical to the Baiman before, except with a dora and the one suit. There are plenty of interesting hands she could be making. How about a Thirteen Orphans for a change of pace? Or that Yakuman hand where you have pairs from 2-7 in one suit. Ryu-ii-Sou (All green) made with a Rinshan would be great too. You could have green bamboo flowers in the background as she makes it, since bamboo is one of the few things that makes green flowers.

I still think that for San An Kou you need fully closed hand (and it wasn't because of that first Kan), not only these three triplets. So from my point of view it was San Kan Tsu and San Ren Kou (2+2 han).
But maybe I'm wrong, I'm not so experienced player and I never kaned/poned for San An Kou. We should leave it be till raws are out, Saki will recite her hand for us

San An Kou can be an open hand as far as I know. Only the three triplets need to be concealed, it doesn't matter if the fourth set is concealed or not. Saki already made a San An Kou earlier in the Baiman, and that one was in an open hand too.

Ahhh, you are right, forgot that 6-pin pon and took it as closed hand. So it looks like my rules are wrong at this point

I should revisit rules what I'm using, looks like there are some hands which are not listed elsewhere (in English) and by jp wiki they are not used commonly . For example by these rules Saki's current hand will be yakuman Suu Renkou "Four Consecutive Sets".
