Great anime and I do wish Maou goes to Chiho's route. I mean Emi's cute and all still I'm not so fond of tsundere trope. Chiho's for me just about perfect girl, guess I'm just sucker for a combination of chipper and cute. I'm just glad she has a big role to fill in this anime. I would have been very very disappointed otherwise. For some reason I enjoyed a little catfight between Chiho and Emi.
That being said all the characters are just lovely and dynamic even the talk between Alsiel and Emi are entertaining. It's really been a while since I saw anime that seamlessly make transition from comedy to action to romance. I would just love if this one goes at least for 2 cour. It feels like a missed opportunity to be just a cour considering it does a marvelous job of portraying the real environment and I would sure like to know more about Maou's world which I expect they will do soon.

I wouldn't really call her tsundere (At least right now, though I can definitely see her developing into one), as her actions are pretty much justified right now.
Remember she views Maou as an evil bastard she needs to cut down. |

The BGM to uber-buff-Maou is rather badass Looks like I don't have to wait long for the fighting to start Not that I was counting down to it because the daily life of Maou and Yusha was uniquely entertaining in it's own rights I hope they don't trade off too much of that with shounen action scenes.
I still find it hard to see Emilia as only 17-18, practically a high school girl In my mind she'll always be an adult working woman! And both of them had a complicating adult relationship! I don't think you could look at that scene in the cafe and not think that Maou and Yusa used to be married

My initial worries that the series would quickly lose its steam were needless. If anything, it's getting even better. I love it! The comedy is hilarious and the plot is getting pretty interesting. I'm loving the characters as well, Emi in particular. I think the reason I'm loving her so much besides her varied facial expressions and her general tsundereness is Youko Hikasa's performance. She's absolutely terrific in this show.
Emi said at the end of the episode was Maou's magic was back. Is that really the case or did he end up like that because he's currently using up his remaining power to save everybody? If he truly got back his powers, he would have no reason to keep working at McRonald's. Quote:
Chiho and Emi's bickering was also really good. I didn't expect Chiho to stand up to her. The misunderstandings were delicious
