To me, it sounds like a collection of short stories filled with cute and funny moments made to make us go "aaaaaaaahhh" and "oooohhh" or "hauuu" (Rena's style). But too soon to suppose I guess. Looking forward to see Rena going mad and taking everyone home...

You know, I'm only wary of one thing--the length of Higurashi. Sure, the first arcs are in 50+ page segments, so they can do a once-a-month thing. However, in arcs like Meakashi, there are 20+ issues with only 30 or so pages. What if they only publish 1 a month?
In Japan, it's been a quicker series since multiple arcs have been running in different magazines. However, if 1 chapter a month is published here--there are 106 manga chapters out so far. 1 a month. Therefore, there will be 9 years worth of slow Higurashi (not to mention the final arcs, which will surely be at least meakashi-length, and the ones being drawn as we speak). Can Yen Press stay afloat for that length of time, and will audience interest remain? Furthermore, if the first issues are quite popular, and the two seasons are dubbed (spoiling the mystery), will certain arcs of the manga be as well-received? On a side note--which artists of the manga did you find the best? For me: Jirō Suzuki Karin Suzuragi Yoshiki Tonogai En Kitō Hanase Momoyama Yutori Hōjō |

Hmm? I figured it would work like this.
Higurashi runs a chapter a month when it is Onikakushi-hen. However, later chapters are shorter, so in order to keep up, they will just run two chapters. Unless they only plan to serialize a little like was stated, but I dunno. Also, Karin Suzuragi is my mangaka hero, I absolutely love her art. |

I downloaded the manga on this forum a few weeks ago and i noticed that some chapters are missing.
I was also wondering if it's normal if pretty much all the chapters end kind of quickly compared to the anime. For instance, onikakushi-hen finishes with Rena repeating ''I'm sorry'' over and over again in the rain. I thought that maybe it was the way the manga was; finishing the chapters with another story in Kei. So in short, do you guys know a good place to download the manga. |

Hmmm... So would I be correct in assuming that Watanagashi-hen hasn't been fully translated yet?
Edit: Nevermind, I just got the bad/good news. It is licensed and no one seems to be working on it Edit2: Can anyone here translate japanese and provide me scripts? I would be interested in finishing the rest of the manga, seeing as I have skills in image editing programs such as photoshop. LOOKING FOR TRANSLATORS!!!! Ah, right you are. I missed that issue of GanGan Powered, which is where I first encountered Higurashi (I believe I got all the GGP issues with Onikakushi-hen except the one with the second chapter), so I misremembered (for some reason I wanted to type "dismembered"...) the scene as being in chapter 2.
