My current theory is that the grand daughter died, so her grandfather cloned her along with all the extinct animals on the island (maybe in an attempt to perfect their cloning technology). It's probably wrong, but it would explain the tombstone and why animals from such different time periods are all in the same place.

With the way the second line is so easy to figure out, I'm surprised they made a plot point out of keeping it secret. I guess it's a cultural thing and not really obvious to Japanese, who do not engrave R.I.P. on their graves. I would have expected the monk at least to pick up on it, but I guess it's up to the stewardess now.
Can't blame people for thinking about Ezio though, it's not a phrase you hear pronounced every day while Ezio did say it quite often. |
