Incest is interesting in anime and various fictional works.
sick in real life. I was interested in seeing Minato and Jun getting together in the anime by quite a great deal. If they came to life and were beside me, I might feel obligated to physically and verbally harrass them. See, while I am sure it tweaks some, It wont bother everyone, but I am surprised that this discussion has gone on so long. Yes everyone understands incest is bad. Does this anime promote it? Only if you believe things like how Columbine happened because those kids liked to play DOOM. /end |

incest is 200% ok to me in anime
and actually, I don't know how I will react in real life either if I see an incest couple for example, if your neighbor is a very very nice couple...I mean, that "husband and wife" treat everyone very politely, and they are very very kind..and then you know they are an incest couple..you gonna call police or insult them to no end?? After all it's their business sure all the law and biology course tell us how the incest coupe is wrong, but in reality if they live together very happily, it's really their business I guess...I would rather have a nice incest couple as my neighbor over a mean or trouble-making normal couple as my neighbor XD

The thing is, you aren't supposed to be attracted to your siblings. People seem to consider sibling attraction a mental problem because well, attraction to your siblings/blood related family isn't really a normal thing to begin with.

I'm not sure why we're going through this all over again. When this sort of thing happens in real life, there are typically circumstances that precipitate it, and it's not so simple as to call it a mental illness. This is fiction, and even here there are "circumstances" (like having been torn apart for most of their childhood due to family circumstances, and being reunited some time later). And research has shown that the "consequences" are not so severe or statistically significant so long as it isn't repeated over many generations. Maybe someone remembers the thread where we had this big conversation a few years ago.

yes we did..... if I cared enough, I'd look up the links and slap people with them but I'm a bit tired of explaining something that 30 seconds of wiki'ing would dispel these myths that people keep spouting :P
