From the summaries that some people have given, it looks as if both attacks connected and so they could be considered equal.

Personally, I believe the rasengan is a much more powerful jutsu than the chidori.

Frankly, we don't know. The Chidori hit (thanks to sharingan) and Naruto missed (this guy really needs to train up his taijutsu).

I think i saw someone who posted that same outcome (i beggining to wonder if Kishimoto post int this forum) , like 3 Manga chapters ago

Sasuke and Naruto both getting unconsius, and When Kakshi arrives, finds only Naruto, and Sasuke been pick up by naruto, that BTW, is wath might have happen...

major spoilers here, but this is what is really going to happen.


sasuke, once again, thrusts his hand through naruto's chest while naruto's resengan barely scrape's sasuke's forehead protector, bringing us back to sasuke telling naruto he could not. naruto regenerates himself AGAIN(which is so cheesy it's ridiculous) before passing out. sasuke realizes he does not have the mangekyou before passing out himself. kakashi arrives to find a passed out naruto...sasuke nowhere to be found.

Well, now where does this leave us? Shikimaru's team was an utter failure. Their main objective, to return Sasuke, was 100% a loss. It looks like multiple deaths on the team (never leave a teammate behind? woops!), and what got accomplished? They took out a few of Oro's main flunkies..

A time warp would be nice.. but theres still a lot left to be known.. Where did Sasuke go? What is Itachi doing? What ever happened to Kabuto? If those Oro flunkies were such Level 2 Badasses, why is Kabuto Oro's 'right hand man'? He must be really badass (moreso then what we saw when he fought Tsunade.)

Theres no time for a time jump right now.. It looks like the story is finally getting off Sasuke and will revert back into Naruto and Kyuubi. We'll probably figure out more about who is in Akatsuki, why they want Naruto, what else they've been doing, etc etc.

And BTW, where is Jiraya in all of this? We havn't seen him since he brought Tsunade back to the city to be Hokage, have we? (My memory is a bit fuzzy today.. I can't remember what he's been up to..)

A time jump would be nice, but I don't think its time for that YET. They need to tie up some loose ends in the next arc before they skip .. I don't expect we'll see/hear from Sasuke until AFTER the time skip, but Naruto and friends still have a lot to cover bfeore they can be 'all grown up' if you ask me =)

Just some opinions/insights on what I heard.. I havn't read/seen the chapter yet so we'll see.. =)

To call Shikamaru's team an utter failure is a bit harsh. I mean, this is the first time they work as a team without supervision from their Jounins. With time, I'm sure they'll improve. Besides, they didn't foresee the possibility that a bunch of strong Sound-Nins will be dispatched to stop them. There were a lot of unexpected varieables coming up for this time so I think it's okay that their first mission wasn't a success.

As for achievements, like you said, they did take out a few of Oro's flunkies and they also get to taste the limit of their ability. Nothing is better than field practice. Although this field practice was quite deadly. Plus, they know get confirmation that Sasuke really does not want to come back to the village.

I wish you guys wouldn't post 233 spoilers in the thread for Chapter 232. Honestly. It's just common sense. At least use a tag and label it "233," like so:

After this mission, if all of them return safe home, it would be logical to assume that they can all be promoted to Chuunin level. Whether it is a failure or not, they did the best they could. Because of the decisions, Naruto could catch up with Sasuke, used his own methods to persuade him about returning, and unfortunately, failed (if the spoilers for the next chapter are correct).

They didn't get it, chapter 233 raw isn't available yet, afaik. They're just discussing rumours from Japanese forums, as far as I can tell. Those rumours have been accurate in the past, though.

P.S. Did someone PM me about some naruto chapters with Itachi in them? If so, PM me again, I forgot all about it.

I agree that now isn't the time for a skip, but not for the same reasons; who wouldn't want to see some Team Shikamaru missions?
