Well yeah except most of the whole thing will not deal with house settings but more the class room settings and outside settings. Depends on how it goes they might put more house settings in but I doubt it.

Adding to the comparisons, what about the old manga/anime Crayon Shin-chan? Anyone still remember/knows that? I think the whole raunchy/hell spawn part of Shin-chan is very similar to those triplets, and Shin-chan is only 5...The whole comedy in harassing teachers is still there as well.

So Mitsudomoe

I've had a good impression by just watching the pilot ep. To kick off, it felt kinda KnJ rip-off but more comedy-oriented. It's actually funny enough to laugh at how twisted his class is; although, I didn't like the nurse's personality. She's like Boin-sensei and loathe perverted things but regardless, she delivered the best punchline ever which literally laughed my ass off. I hope the jokes don't get old though, and they should have a camping or something different setting to make it more interesting. Hitoha caught my eyes before and as expected, she's my favorite character followed by Mitsuba.

OP was meh, but the Galaxy Angel-esque ED on the other hand, gave a warm and relaxing feeling which conveys the viewers that they spent a good time for watching it. Thumbs up for Minami-ke director as always.

Appropriate comparisons.

However, in my opinion:

Less shocking than Kodomo.
Less charming than Kyou.
Less warm than Minami.
Less clever than Ichigo.

My sentiments exactly. As someone said somewhere: either you laugh or you don't. I didn't. So I'll pass.

Good luck to all.

drrobertbaker summarizes things pretty well, for me. But it bothers me to see ep1 compared with Ichigo Mashimaro at all. That is my favorite comedy anime: smart, warm, absurd. Ep1 of Mitsudomoe still feels cruel and crass to me, after a second viewing. I understand the similarity in absurdity, and in the surface harshness. But there was clearly a lot of warmth and understanding in IM, which I don't see here. Yet. Nor do I see the sharp comic timing that show had. The gags here feel drawn out to me. But I'll certainly be back for ep2. Maybe it will be different, or I will be.

However, I did like the similarly innocently raunchy Seitokai Yakunindomo. There's no accounting for taste, lol.

Haha, how Marui wrote き backwards on her desk. So adorable.

Anyway, very fun and funny episode, had me laughing. The show's funny, amusing, and kinda sweet too (the Nipples segment was adorable, even though Sensei's crush was getting the wrong idea ).

Utterly fascinating how we had the polar opposite reactions to this series and Seitokai Yakunidomo. Humor is a very peculiar thing.

I'm with Kaoru Chujo ... there's a lack of "warmth" here that makes comparisons with Ichigo Masimaro or Kyounogononi a bit misleading. If anything, it seems to be "meaner" in spirit. Ah well, we'll give it the usual 3 episode probationary watch before deciding. It is decently funny at times.

To be fair, shows like this gets funnier after the author gets her groove on, but I'm sure no one here is patient enough. I personally read ahead and I found a lot of the gags are funnier later on but probably not within the next three episodes.

Personally, the show is supposed to give you cheap to brilliant gags and jokes. The timing seemed fine, and the sound effects/gestures/added visuals made it better as close to Minami-ke. If you're looking for warmth or solid bonding from the triplets, then you're watching a wrong show, and the reason to watch it seemed out of place. As I said before, it's more of comedy-oriented pandering to lolicon.. or not but hey, it's just the first episode, it might give you a warm and fuzzy feeling on the latter. But who really gives a damn about it?

Also, Minami-ke is an excellent slice of life that gives "warmth" or entry-level morals from the sisters up to the side characters . No, not the season 2, it doesn't exist, and it's pointless to dislike it but I still respect those open-minded opinions.

Is this going to be said of every show that stars young characters? Because that can't be true for every case, nor do I think it is.

I was thinking of that as I wrote that post. Peculiar and somehow wonderful, since there are other shows we agree about.

Frankly, I don't see how people can say this series is even remotely lolicon friendly. To start with, the character designs really aren't what you'd call moe (the manga style is a bit cuter, but still not there), and for another, very little of the raunch actually physically involves the children in a remotely sexual manner, and what does is done strictly for laughs, and not titillation (like the M kid Mitsuba used as a chair, or the three stalkers gargling their stalkee's splash water in the OP). They're just dirty-minded, foul-mouthed kids. It's adult, yes, but it's also about as sexual as South Park or Shin-chan.

Let's put it this way. In the scene where Futaba says "I see your pantsu!" to Mitsuba, did we actually see Mitsuba's pantsu? If this were catering to lolicons not only would we have seen those pantsu, we'd have lingered on them...

Pretty disappointed so far. I feel like I've seen all these characters before in better series, and the show just doesn't know when to stop with a single gag, running each one into the ground before moving on to the next. I don't know. The pacing just feels really off to me. It's not because the jokes are stupid, mean, or crass; B Gata H Kei and Maria Holic are among my favorite series.

More power to you if you're enjoying this, it's just not doing it for me.

Agreed on that, by the way. I was kind of surprised, considering the series does have "moe" in its title...

Not "looking for warmth"... just noting that using Ichigo Masimaro as an indicator is misleading because, as you say, this series is more bang-bang-bang gags and jokes. But I'm not clear on why having young people as characters auto-labels a series as "pandering to lolicon". Was the comic strip Peanuts "pandering to lolicon"? Methinks not.

Oh okay. I actually did not mislead myself as I knew my expectations beforehand.

To be precise, there's "or not" for a reason cause I have yet read the manga and its source material. Methinks maybe it has gratuitous fanservice or sexual shenanigans rather than subtle to "a-hint-of" lolicon elements. I might be wrong though.

The only "fanservice" so far is the fully covered gag boobs of the 24-year-old school nurse and some boobie-centric hand-drawn "art" by one of the students. And, well, Hitoha's porno mag, but we never really get a good look at that. And there are no "sexual shenanigans" at all. Just some crude talk. And some package-punching jokes that—without the underlying reason why (which is South Park-level humor at worst)—would feel right at home on Nickelodeon...

Seriously, the Funimation dub of Shin-chan is more risqué than this...

Well said!

There's far too much a tendency to tag shows as something these days, sometimes before they've even aired, and often when they have no similarity to the thing they're being tagged as.

Main characters are childen... Lolicon!
Main characters are a group of teenage girls... it's just like K-ON!
Female characters have close friendship... Yuri!
and so on.

I prefer to make my judgements based on watching the actual show, and as far as that goes I think I'm giving this three or four to prove itself!
