okay first episode, but the first half bored me... I didn't like the twins' scenes that much; they were kinda cliche. Once Hei came into the picture, though, things started to get interesting... I'm looking forward to episode 2 and I'm wanting some backstory.

I've been gone for like 10 minutes and DtB already has a subform. Funny how that happens lol

I thought that the first episode was all kinds of awesome near the end. Hei looked really worn out near the end there, April had here 15-minutes of glory before going and having a drink with November, Burger guy who I forgot his name got to be Swiss cheese, and Suou is all kinds of cute. Really good start.
Music was good, I actually thought that it fits the series more than the previous season*(not saying that last season music was phenomenal, because it was, but I think that Yasushi Ishii fits more with this type of show)

Yeah, we need more Yin, but I'm also happy that we were able to see more of April before she bit the dust. Really good start for the new season. Some things that disappointed me is the fact that there was no apparent opening theme in this ep. I really want to know if they can outdo Howling, but that can wait for the next episode. The beginning of the ep was a bit slow but good for explaining the backstory behind the new characters. And HEI! He looks awesome with the long hair, makes him look more battle-worn.

Quoted for emphasis.

We see Yin twice--once for like half a second at the end of the OP, and in the middle of the ED. That's not enough!

yeah im glad april's gone - she emitted a negative vibe every time i watched her

liked both shihon and souo

i really really hope Yin will be back and ally with Hei. Any chance of them becoming a pair in the end? it's one pair i'd like to see happening

Wow, talk about perfection.

April opening with November's trademark cigarette lines... stuff like that gets me every time.

And damn, Hei's reappearance... you can do it any better than that.

The only downside is that you pretty much need to watch the first season to get into this new one. Still, what a treat for fans of the first series.

I wouldn't call it a downside at all, i mean people who want to check this show out will have to experience the first season, and in my opinion it was one of the best shows of 2007, a must watch show.

Now I'm glad I finished the first season a couple of months ago
I say the first episode was good, but I'll leave it at just good. As to why, it's the first episode, so they spent an awful lot of time to explain the part where contractors are heartless beasts with superpowers, and the story felt a bit cliched, twins with keepsake item chased by the military running away from home...then again, it's not like they're going to meet their mom who is secretly a scientist at hell's gate and save the world with that amulet, right?....right?

First episode was alright for me.

But the very beginning of DtB's first episode is unreachable.

Good episode,I mean I was wondering where Hei is for most of it when I watched it,but considering that they're trying to potray Suo's normal life before the incident of the episode was a nice touch.

Well, this definitely pushed the limits on extreme opposites... starting out with what's essentially a generic school anime setting, and then going Darker than Black...

honestly, I think the worst part of the show was when the guy learned the hard way his (probably ex) girlfriend became a Contractor. Still, a very good episode
