Who is the strongest gennin and why?

With out a doubt i would have to say its Naruto. Becuase first, he can summom something that even Jiraiya or orochimaru cant handle. Second, he has the kyuubi chakara inside of him and will can gain infinite amounts of it when he needs it most.

Other than that i would say the overall strongest character in the anime is the guy on my avatar.

Naruto Can summon Gambunta but cant control him. He is the frogs subordinate. Jiraya is more equal with the frog and... nm you'll see later on. Gaara and Naruto seem pretty even except that Gaara isn't afraid to kill. Also I have to see how Sasuke turns out after the lvl 2 cursed seal transformation.

Garaa and naruto never seemed even to me, havn't they said befor that Kyuubi was the strongest of the 9 demons?

The strongest Genin is, without a doubt, Kabuto. He's still a Genin since he forfeits the Exam every time for Oro, but he has Jounin strenght, actually he's as strong or even stronger than Kakashi-sensei. I think Kabuto is much stronger than we imagine.

Anyways, the strongest "kid genin" (since Kabuto is 19 years old) are three: Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara (basing on the manga). In the anime, Naruto and Gaara are the strongests.

They didn't say it, but if you see the actual Japanese Mythology, it's said Kyuubi was the strongest of the Great 9.

And Naruto/Kyuubi actually works different than Gaara/Shukkaku. While Naruto can only use Kyuubi's Chakra, Gaara can use Shukkaku himself. So the only way of Naruto beating Gaara/Shukkaku is summoning Gamabunta-sama. Of course, the Kyuubi would kill Shukkaku with a fart, but currently he can't do that

It'll take a long time to Sasuke get on Naruto's level again. Later, he will go after Orochimaru for power, and the 4 Sounds will "elevate" his Curse Seal so that it becomes level 2. Sasuke will become much more powerful with the Curse Seal level 2 (even though he didn't use it yet ).
Anyways, it's just an assumption basing on the 4 Sounds' strenght. That's why Sasuke will be as strong as Naruto, or stronger, since the 4 Sounds are very strong when they use the Curse Seal level 2.

Vicious is right about Kabuto, in the anime, the current strongest besides Kabuto is Gaara, Neji, Sasuke, Naruto, or Shikamaru. Disagree? Just wait.

In the Manga...It's hard to say.

Discounting Kabuto,

Greatest physical strength - Chouji
Most # of jutsu's - probably Sasuke
Highest amount of stamina/raw power - Naruto
Best strategic wizard - Shikamaru
Best hand-to-hand - Neji
Fastest - Rock Lee
Hardest to beat - Gaara

If we were to drop everyone into some sort of battle royale, Gaara would probably come out on top when all is said and done.

Yes, I HAVE read the manga, but technically it wasn't Naruto who beat Shukaku, it was Gamabunta

If you mean most powerful, it isn't Gaara (he knows no real jutsu's besides his sand attacks.

IMO, Naruto is the strongest of the genins including even Kabuto

It's so obvious, there is no doubt about that, Sakura is the strongest genin by far.

No one can do a thing against her because of her capacity to bored to the death anyone just by her very existence.

Beside she already beat Naruto countless time.

I have to disagree on you thier, becuase with naruto amour of chakra, he would last quite a long time. Specially with all the skill he aquires later on.

Anyway at the point the anime is at now I would rank the top 5 genin as:

1. Naruto, Gaara
3. Neji
4. Sasuke
5. Shino

Naruto doesn't get any training between now and fighting Gaara, so he must already be even with him. Neji seemed to know about Lee's speed without the weights, so I don't think Sasuke's speed would be a problem for him, though the Chidori might. I think there's a big gap between Sasuke and Shino, but I don't think Shikamaru, Temari, or Kankuro are as strong, though they are close enough to make a fight between any of them go either way.

kabuto isnt a gennin, because he isnt a leaf-nin. He's a sound nin
As a sound nin he is 2nd only to Oro, the kage. In leaf he was a spy, he wasnt a member, therefore watever title the Leaf gives him is irrelvant to his sound nin title, which is the elite of elite nins.

for example if i worked for a LAPD and was a nark, i got assigned to high school. i get bad grades so i can make myself look like im a stupid drugie, does this affect my actual 4.0 GPA i got in high school? no, im still a 4.0 in my gpa, just as a spy my grade is 2.2, but that has nothing to do with my actual high school gpa.
