Fairy Tail Anime Episode Discussion Thread [Episode 165 and Onward]

Woohoo, episode 17 was great. I liked Erza's new armor, her best is still the one she wore during the death flute thing. Erza falling in the pit was funny, even better she climbs up and continues her speech right where she left off.

Pretty decent episode.

There was some filler material here and there, though it didn't feel forced, and was pretty fun. I'm pretty much satisfied with any anime original material we get, so it's all good.

The episode doesn't end the way it should, and going by the preview for next weeks episode, we won't be jumping right into the next arc. I'm fine with that, because going by the preview, next weeks episode looks hilarious.

Wow. Fairy Tail is the king of Anti-climatic scenes. It's always setting up huge cool stuff but it always ends up less "cool" but more great.

I was smiling throughout nearly the whole episode. And the parts I weren't I was on the edge of my seat. The part where the sky broke and the stars and real moon shone through filled me with feelings of wonder. When the villagers took to the sky to the graduation music it felt really nice. When Sherry said "We had forgotten love", the whole arc seemed to just fit together perfectly. These feel like the pinnacle of shonen values.

Plus I would have never guessed the demon plot twist but it made so much sense. Now I'm excitedly waiting any new developments Fairy Tail will throw my way. Although judging from the opening it will be a bit before we learn about old blue hair.

The ending was a serious let-down. I don't mind the filler in-between, it blends pretty well so it's even better actually, but I really wanted to start the next arc, it's one of the good parts of the story (never lets you off the hook). Natsu's nakajima impression was funny, next episode must be teh lolz

I loved Gray and Lucy this episode. Between their horror at Erza and Natsu actually attempting to destroy the moon and their freaking out at the inevitable punishment upon returning to the guild, they provided quite a few laughs.

I'm guessing next week's filler between arcs is based on the special chapter where they learn transformation magic. I do have to say that even if they are just padding the time between arcs, they do it well by basing them on the side stories. I do hope this means we get the women's dorm one at some point,

I'm getting antsy for the next arc. My favorite character appears soon.

I think this was a solid way to wrap up this arc. It was a pretty good one if only for the emotional scenes and delving into Gray's past. Him and Natsu were freaking out pretty badly at the end though . Thought one of the more interesting parts was Ul's daughter making her entrance. Apparently the apple can fall really far from the tree.

was a good episode, enjoyed the filler parts of the episode although it felt a little bit weird either seeing Ultear animated or her anime design i just have to get used to it
guess it was impossible that they were going to go directly to the next arc, i think that starting now the arc would make a greater impression than after a filler episode but i also like the idea of making the fillers related to the special chapters
i wonder when they'll animate fairy tail bangai

I THINK it airs around Monday noon (at least Shiroth always posts at 14:30 or so ). All anime are weekly, the manga is weekly as well.

It airs 7:30 PM on Monday in prime time on TV Tokyo, with a repeat airing on Sunday at 9 AM, Japan standard time.

I really liked episode 18, though I wondered what they were going to do with the rest of the episode, when destroyed the barrier, so early on. Erza and Natsu working together is a scary force indeed. I'm wondering what "that" is also. I also curious to know what the Sag summon is going to be like.

Oh boy did that episode deliver. It was hilarious.

Natsu and Loke switched, Gray and Lucy switched and easily the best one of the episode, Erza and Happy. The humor in this episode was seriously over the top, with great jokes one after the other, and thanks to that, we got to see quite possibly the best Erza fanservice ever.

I don't know where to start with naming my favorite scenes in this episode, so i'll just say it was a complete blast.

Next weeks episode will be the backstory with the egg.

And I'll just say that Shiroth is right.
There was a surprising lack of seiyuu jokes though. I was fully expecting Happy to re-equip as Shana. But swimsuit Erza is fine too.

The kid (forgot his name) must be disappointed since he wasn't one of the people to switch at the end. I'm guessing we won't ever find out what "that" is too.
Levy was cute. It'd be nice if she got screen time in the future. Even though she screwed up in the end.
Next episode is the side story in the ending. I hope people won't complain too much about the next arc being put off.
