Anyway, the evil guy's plan was to break Yakumo by killing Haruka. I'm fairly certain that was mentioned specifically. And even if it wasn't, the evil guy also blatantly ordered the blond bitch to shoot Haruka in the leg and was about to do so. And even if his goal wasn't attacking Haruka then it still wouldn't have been contradictory.

And even if that explosion was aimed for an escape, blowing up a gas tank does not cause a minor explosion.

Putting all manias aside....this is an attempt at a timeline.

Yakumo's father kidnapped Azusa and raped her in Nagano, then discovered by Haruka's mom. Then Yakumo was born. Then Azusa met Takeda, fell in love, got engaged. Then the Nanase murders, in which the real culprit was Miyuki Nanase (the woman holding the crossbow, aliased Yukino Hoshino), and in which Takeda was falsely accused. Then Yakumo's father shows up, mindfucks Azusa into believing that Yakumo will grow to become a murderer ("killing" Takeda to "provide evidence") so she prevents that by trying to kill him.

I'm not sure if Takeda and Yakumo really did marry, and the death of Takeda wasn't entirely specific. If people believed that Yakumo's father hadn't killed anyone, then it's easy to conclude that he got someone else to.

The best part: Chibi Yakumo is sooooooooooo damn cute!!

But this episode left a huge lump in my throat...

That father of his was...and still is, even from beyond the grave(?), such a b*sterd!

I really thought episode 9 felt like a concluding episode. A lot of things were wrapped up nicely. Feel bad for Yakumo's mother who just had some terrible experiences. She gets kidnapped, raped, finally finds love and then has that person charged with murder. I'm not surprised she fearfully tried to take out Yakumo though probably should have expected that guy to be involved in the killings if he was suddenly showing up to say those kinds of things to her. Takeda is a sad victim as well. A good guy who was going to take care of Azusa and Yakumo, but then gets killed off after the murder accusations.

Glad Gotou finally went home. Guess it took nearly dying to get him to wake up a little bit. Definitely deserved the hit from his superior though.

Sadly the girl and Yakumo's biological father (does this guy have a name?) are still on the loose. Doubt they will be satisfied until they ruin Yakumo's life. Too bad they couldn't get captured since both are insane monsters. Really they fall off a cliff and the world instantly becomes a better place. I get the girl had a traumatic childhood, but she is just gone and needs to be stopped.

Hard to believe how everything ties together. Gotou saved Yakumo as a child, Haruka's mother saved the pregnant Azusa and stayed in contact, and now Yakumo and Haruka are getting closer. Could say Yakumo saving Haruka was repaying a family debt.

Wonder where they might end up taking things in the last few episodes. Probably a few cases while focusing some more on Yakumo and Haruka. They've gotten closer that's for sure.

Yakumo's father is a spirit like how Takeda was, Ishin going to die medically, but seems like Yakumo's fatehr is after him as well, maybe trying to cut it short and bring Yakumo to the darkness, Nanase captured but hoping Yakumo's father will save her like last time, that doctor watching Ishin was suspicious, little Yakumo was great, looked like first time Yakumo has seen those pictures

so Nanase was caught although she's convinced Yakumo's father will save her. it's a shame that Isshin is going to die and it looks like Yakumo's father wants to accelerate the process

Since the sub's out, I guess I don't need to tag this.

Ep. 10...is equally an emotional rollercoast like ep. 9. That revelation about Isshin's medical condition is just too sad. I've come to like Yakumo's uncle very much - he's such a kind hearted man, and this will be a major blow to Yakumo. Having lost almost every near family member...he has such a sad fate - the only good side is probably having met Haruka. I really hope there's a way to save Isshin...but then I feel he may be the plot sacrifice to saving that little girl.

That scene with them looking through the album was a bittersweet moment - especially when it comes after we know about his uncle.

Maybe Yakumo's father is a dead spirit that somehow managed to overtake a living body? Maybe he has set up Yakumo to be his next vessel?

Surprised Isshin took out Gotou before going to meet with Yakumo's father, i guess that was to protect him, he wasted his wors trying to stop him, but since he supposedly a ghost he shouldn't be able to stab him because i thought they can't affect the physical world.

Really felt bad for Nao this whole ep, Isshin was bound to die anyway, but it's harder this way, she did put up a good effort of not crying in the beginning. So that girl that Isshin was talking to into the hospital has changed indeed because her spirit apologized to the patient.

I like how Gotou took in Nao, she's like the child her and her wife always wanted, funny how the chief told him to go home and stay by Nao, Gotou is clueless, but when he came home it was like a family.

First i thought Yakumo's father took Nanase's body but they showed him outside while she was going to the hospital, also in the preview it looked like she was attacking again, maybe he faked her having a seizure to help her break out.

In the end Yakumo thanked Haruka for staying by his side, i think that's a right step for their relationship, they are growing closer.

Looks like Yekumo's father is more than just a spirit.
Wonder what he did to Nanase, she sema to be in perfect health in preview.

That does seem possible, especially when she said something like "Time to join with you again", and the way she reacted was almost similar to previous cases where a spirit tried to possess someone.

Miyuki spin kick! She must have learn it from Suzaku (code geass). I wonder if anyone will do a gif comparing the two.

They also reveal the human behind Issin's attack. They have foreshadow it in previous episode so it is not a big surprise.

Yakumo's father comfirmed what he actually is (from his own words). Can't say it is very surprising as it is foreshadow before as well.

I wonder, how come Yakumo's father do not bring Yakumo to darkness when he is younger? I think it is relatively easy to bring Yakumo to darkness before he meets Haruka.

How many episode is left? do the series end at 13 or 14 episode?

Argh, I really like Isshin. Even though he doesn't make a lot of appearances, somehow his presence is strongly felt within the story. The saddest scene, I find, is when they all sat together to look at Yakumo's baby picture after you're told about his terminal illness...

(This is also one of the reasons why I'm hesitating to finish Hakuouki. )
