So, this series doesn’t sell well, huh? That’s too bad . Fortunately, it’s already slated for 24-26 episodes. There’s still plenty of episodes to go with anime-original plot like FMA (if they have to). Btw, I think I’ve never seen giant plants fighting this epic since Godzilla vs. Biollante.

As much as I love Yoshino and Mashiro, I have to admit that a small part of me kinda wished they died since it would have been a terrific blow, even more than what A Song of Ice and Fire did. I'm relatively confident that this series can continue to be as spectacular as it has been. If there is one gripe I have with the series, it's that the show is so immersed with the characters that little is paid to the background. It would be nice if there was more perspective to the innocent bystanders who are suffering from all this and are confused about what's happening once in a while so we get a better sense of scale that these events bring and what's at stake. The drama just feels slightly too insular for something that concerns the fate of the entire world. But then again, I have no idea if Shakespeare's plays did this...

I realize, I'm a veritable old man these days (though still young and spry compared to the Seij), but I think it's kind of sad to hear that Shakespeare isn't mandatory reading for kids these days while in school.
To answer the question, broadly...yes. I'll go a little further, and say that background perspectives on innocents, etc, (and to some extent, the fate of the world), aren't really what the show (emphasis on show, not story) is about, imo.

I wasn't really all that interested in doing so before this anime, but damn if I don't feel the urge to start reading Hamlet and Tempest thanks to this show...
