For this chapter I can accept Nao being "unused" as she doesn't know anyone involved particularly while Sumire has a bit of exposition to handle alone with of course Ui, Azusa, and Sawako handling most of the reactions...with Jun throwing things in as she knows these people somewhat by reputation...and she's the one that tends to has to ask the questions since Azusa and Ui were the ones that know more about the older Light Music Club members while Jun really didn't. Nao has no reason to be care all that much. (She also gets to write it all down for blackmail use later....)
Also Nao held most of the attention last chapter with Ui. So it was Sumire's turn. It is summer though...so I wonder where that will lead? They have not had a concert year that we are aware of.

Hell, they don't even have songs yet that we're aware of, do they?
But you bring up an interesting point. We know they'll probably perform at the culture festival, and after that... 3/5 of the band graduates. Then what? They'll split after just one performance?

It looks like the Light Music Club traditionally performs during the Freshman Orientation and the Culture Festival. The latter happens around autumn.
It's summer right now, so there's a chance we'll see the two halves of the story intersect at one of Mugi's seaside villas.

This was a brilliant chapter for me cause it finally confirmed what we all thought and it really didn't disappoint with the Mugi/Sumire sisterly love!
The revelation of how Mugi got her Mugi vision was great, trust manga to be the worst influence in manga, seems all so obvious now And Sawa-chan being Sawa-chan, theres no love lost for her either over the years, she's always trying to be the adult and teacher but for the most fails at So many flags were raised this chapter Kinda like the Sumire X Ui one imouto power! Guess Ui has her own Ui vision as well now Loveds this chapter greatly as it revolves around 2 of my favorite characters of the series!

Let's see...
- Yui and Ui's parents appeared in the manga as well as in the anime. - Mugi's... her Dad appeared as a silhouette (when Yui wanted to buy Giita, eyebrow reference by the store clerk), and there was a family photograph seen in her summer house. Although not clearly visible (it's like a painting), we could see her father, mother and herself. IIRC, her mother also has blonde hair. But both of this only occured in the anime. - IIRC, Mio's mother never appeared, but she had a speech bubble in the manga, calling Mio. (The chapter where Ritsu wanted Mio teach her, but Mio rejected her, and Ritsu got in through Mio's room through the window ) - Ritsu and Azusa's parents was never shown. I don't know whether Azusa's childhood will be seen or not (but let's just hope so). Up till now, she doesn't seem to have anyone who spent the childhood with her (see my previous post about this pattern). I thought the manga clearly stated that she's originally from Austria. She seemed to be born in Japan since she said that Kotobuki family brought her family very long time ago, and the relationship between the two families started long before she was born.

Parents issue seems to be a mystery for most characters in this manga. I don't think we even get a chance to see Ritsu's parents, just her brother. If there is one thing I am bothered by the latest chapter is in page 6 first panel: we didn't get to see face of Sumire's daddy who is supposely Kotobuki Family butler as well.

Anyway, This chapter was great! Mugi not keeping a difference between rich and poor was so touching, I love people like those. Ui was creepy.. |
