i jsut realized this: how did Ranka knows that Sheryl is having the V-TYPE VIRUS INSIDEE HER BRAIN?

Magic? Who knows how Ranka knew anything about Sheryl at all, they haven't interacted in forever and Ranka hasn't seemed to care in forever until this episode. I'm actually kind of surprised how devoid of romance the whole last episode was. There were moments here and there (the salute!), but it was more about Ranka x Sheryl then anything. Magic I say.

After rewatching the ep several times, I have changed my mind and can honestly say I am pretty satisfied with how it ended for now.

All I can say... is that there were A LOT of things I missed the first time around when I originally posted.

From the raw, it looks like Ranka actually converted sheryl's virus to be functional like hers. Thats why her torso was glowing like ranka does. I think sheryl's song got powered up to ranka's level. At least that is some saving grace for this episode.

Oh, and it looks like they found SDF-2 finally!

Kawamori basically rewarded Ranka for all the terrible things he had to put her through after episode 21. He gave Sheryl too much of an advantage by making Ranka leave the macross frontier and giving Sheryl the "I am dying card". So this was he only way to bring back thing to what they were. I guess Ranka matured, she is now open and honest with her feelings.

Kawamori really loves these two characters, I doubt we will see a resolution to the love triangle in the movie. IT will be just more singing like many people are saying and more "Mecha porn"

Damn! Even though I was not shipping, I really thought that Alto was going to choose Sheryl.
