It is true that the background is different in the shot where she leaves, but the light that you're speaking of is a light, and it's a light in the previous shot as well. What's missing is what's important.

Dattebayo and LE subbed it.
Liked the part where... *blushing* Kyon: I thought you might be up to something but, you want us to sleep here? Yuki: Yes. Kyon: With Asahina-san? Yuki: Yes. *both start blushing and trembling* Yuki: Sleep. Kyon: Don't be so direct! Yuki: And only sleep. Kyon: Well that was the plan, yeah...

Haruhi animation errors are special.
We used to discuss dimensional sliding school bags that seem to phase in and out of scenes. And Haruhi's famous, impossible legs that defy the limits of human physique.

As a representative for live-evil, I will tell you first hand. No one did justice to the episode 1 script compared to a.f.k.'s translation.
I encourage you to use us or CoalGG for speedsubs, but if you can wait a few days, watch a.f.k. We harbor no illusions that we can do a better job than them. I'm fairly certain coalguys/gg translator would agree. |

Another reason why this episode was so good and a perfect one to get back into Haruhi-ness. |

I think it makes sense to think of the sentient entities as being made of information, since information has meaningful structure whereas data is raw material. In fact it's possible to think of organic life forms as information structures too, ISTM it's what separates living organisms from dead matter. When you think about life forms in that way, the idea of a life form that is pure information is not all that far fetched at all.

Actually just think of everything in the universe being information, something you can understand, provided you have the intelligence and means to understand it.
And this is how the Data Entities view the universe, I prefer Entities because I'm used to typing that after 3 years. Even though the universe itself looks analog, it is actually digital if you scale down to the quantum level. The Data Entities manipulate the information or interact with the universe by processing at this quantum, digital level. That is why they seem to be using some form of computer language. They may not actually be using computer language, but because our ladies here are created to look like humans, they express their data manipulation in a format that humans seem to be able to understand.

We just don't have the ability to apply it to physical data yet. |

But scientists do predict that billions of years into the future of the universe, Electric lifeforms may evolve. A time in the future where stars are so far apart and the average temperature of the universe has dropped so low that no organic life can evolve. Scientists think that electrical impulses or some electromagnetic wave may develop in a regular waveform in the corona atmospheres of very isolated and stagnant stars. These waveforms of electricity may have a regular wavelength and may form binary signals and eventually evolve themselves like a program, essentially an electronic lifeform. They probably will just zap around the corona of their stars feeding on the energy given out by the star itself, not sure if they can further evolve into anything else.
