Predictability is not bad. The show is great on its own. You just want Ami to "win" and you're disappointed as a result. Go watch Shuffle. ...Negima is shonen. No one suggested it should do anything innovative. |

What???... let me use some Shipper power XD
We have a girl who was an orphan, taken food from garbage and with a rare disease who becames in a intergalactic super star... and a model who like to sit between 2 vending machines. Nah, seriously, even in novels Ami reach half the relevance to plot than Sheryl. Now, who is better?... hard to tell, there is also personal taste and that you cant measure. But to me, IMHO, Ami is focused in her own little world and Sheryl is quite the woman with determination... damn.... she has "Because I'm Shery Nomel" Attitude... But if you like Ami, i respect that.

Heh, I actually really wanted to like Sheryl, but I started to feel everyone in MF was just acting only according to whatever the script dictated of them, not their own actions? Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Some of that in any storyline, but Ami felt a little more real. I can sympathize with not having much of a chance due to nothing more than timing/luck. Anyway my dislike of Sheryl likely had more to do with going over the shipping wars. It's finally laying to rest. |

I wanted Ami to "win," but I was never disappointed because I never had hope of her winning in the first place, because the show is so predictable. Why would I set myself for some ultra disappointment? How long can it stay interesting when the whole story is about the process of him ending up with the girl who has overwhelming amount of odds ALREADY stacked in her flavor? Sure, the show is pretty funny, I give it that. But for how it is setup, I find it hard to take its romance drama element any more serious than your typical run-of-the-mill shounen harem. |

Yeah, the show is predictable since it portrays the way things would have gone if this was set in real life. To expect "twists" from a story such as this really degrades the setting, the characters and the story since it would force it to be something that could only happen in fiction.
