LOL, what about Rakette? That sounds both similar and feminine, although I have to admit the drawing above does a good job of that.

You horny guys can just imagine the current Raki as being a tomboy-type girl, since it's the thought that counts. Right?

If Raki had been a girl. People would complain that the show suffers from the stereotypical useless and annoying loli.

As for what I think of him. I kinda like him. Sure, he's not an asskicker and he ruined the anime from the moment it started diverging from the manga. But a lot of his whining was quite understandable for me.
As far as I could tell, he whined a lot because he was frustrated over being so weak compared to Clare. And that inferiority complex only got worse and worse with the revelation that Clare was the lowest-ranking Claymore as well as the fact that he never could do anything to help her kill Yoma.

Yes I was rather glad that he was a "weak yet not useless male character" since I've seen plenty of female characters in shounen series, so it's refreshing to see a turn around having the female main character protect the sidekick male character.

This may sound extremely retarded but when I first started reading claymore I thought Raki was the main character and after 74 chapters I still think that he is one of the most important characters in the manga. I always thought that he would be like a boy claymore or something cool like that

You watch too much shounen anime.

Claymore is a shounen anime.

Ummm. . .yeah. Well, whatever, the point is that it'd be cliche.
