I cannot help but drop my jaw in shock, this is so disturbing lol....A female Raki would still be as bad as the male Raki due to the fact that he''d still complain, yell out Clare every 10 seconds, cry in every scene he is in and still be worthless. Still it gave me a good laugh and it's the thought that counts i guess

If Raki had been a girl. People would complain that the show suffers from the stereotypical useless and annoying loli.
As for what I think of him. I kinda like him. Sure, he's not an asskicker and he ruined the anime from the moment it started diverging from the manga. But a lot of his whining was quite understandable for me. As far as I could tell, he whined a lot because he was frustrated over being so weak compared to Clare. And that inferiority complex only got worse and worse with the revelation that Clare was the lowest-ranking Claymore as well as the fact that he never could do anything to help her kill Yoma. |

Yes I was rather glad that he was a "weak yet not useless male character" since I've seen plenty of female characters in shounen series, so it's refreshing to see a turn around having the female main character protect the sidekick male character.

This may sound extremely retarded but when I first started reading claymore I thought Raki was the main character and after 74 chapters I still think that he is one of the most important characters in the manga. I always thought that he would be like a boy claymore or something cool like that

Claymore is a shounen anime. Ummm. . .yeah. Well, whatever, the point is that it'd be cliche. |
