How many people actually have controllers for the PC? From what I've heard from friends and online acquaintances, not many... If they don't either

A) Keyboard (lolnothappening)

or

B) Buying a PC controller (more $$$)

A game like Skullgirls (really just any fighting game in general) has to be nightmarish using keys.

I use my PS3 and 360 controllers. PS3 controller for fighting games.

I use my HRAP3 to play Skullgirls on PC. The game uses DirectInput so it's compatible with most controllers out there.

PC version will have Squigly first.

PC version will also have a whole bunch of balance changes, a new version of the IPS that now also prevents long "Touch-of-Death" combos, online player lobbies and several aesthetic choices such as new super flashes.

The online player lobbies will be a PC-exclusive feature for an unspecified amount of time, they also have not been implemented in the beta yet. However, the rest of the features will be released on console versions shortly after the PC release.

Honestly, they don't really have much time for adding modes.

I asked the lead programmer about it at one point; they will... when they have time. There's still a ton of DLC characters to make.

I can never seem to get the Z movement right QQ. Apparently I'm not that coordinated. Or maybe my PS3 controller is just weird to use on the PC.

Also, anyone using a PS3 controller on the PC, were you able to get the thumbstick to work?

nvm, forgot to turn DS3 on.

Today on April 10th, 2015, Skullgirls turns three! "The little indie fighter that could" has come a long ways since its 2012 release; despite the setbacks Lab Zero Games experienced along the way, Skullgirls has done nothing but grow. It's always nice to put things in perspective though, so...

Since April 10th, 2012, Skullgirls:

-Sold over 50,000 units in its first ten days after release.

-Sold an estimated 300,000 units on PC from release to now.

-Participated as a sidegame at EVO 2012, 2013, and 2014.

-Attempted crowdfunding to complete its first DLC character, Squigly. The community gave Lab Zero Games 533% of what they asked for, and funded enough characters to keep Lab Zero busy for the next two years.

-Raised $78,000 for breast cancer research via its loving community.

-Received six new DLC characters, all of which were charitably given away for free.

-Received a new playable character just because Lab Zero thought it'd be funny.

-Released on Windows, with ports to PS4/Vita and Mac/Linux coming soon.

-Cared about your feedback, and released the Skullgirls Endless Beta to PC
players. Since then, the Beta has seen hundreds of patches in Lab Zero's undying effort to create the perfect fighter.

-Became the first Western fighter to make it to Japanese arcades in over a decade.

-Received 13 new and unique stages, bringing the total from 8 to 21.

-Received 12 new stage themes, jointly composed by Michiru Yamane (Of Castlevania fame), Vincent Diamante, Brenton Kossack, and Blaine McGurty.

-Has been a part of Salty Cupcakes for 2 1/2 years.

-Survived its development team being laid off, its American publisher being sued, its Japanese publisher going out of business, its 360/PSN publisher going bonkers, and its developers not receiving sales revenue until last year (while working at near-minimum wage).

-Holds the Guinness World Record for most frames of animation per character, with an average of 1,439 frames for each fighter.

-Holds the Guinness World Record for Longest Launch Party, which now stands at 1095 days (and counting).
Been threw a lot yet still here

It’s been a little more than two years since Skullgirls‘ Indiegogo campaign ended, and we’re nearing the end of production of the DLC that our fans funded.
The latest addition to the lineup is Beowulf, a pro wrestler loosely inspired by the epic poem of the same name. You can download Beowulf on PS3 completely free this Friday, April 17th!
A well-meaning meathead, Beowulf comes out of retirement to fight the Skullgirl only to find he’s in for much more than he bargained for
PS4/Vita Update

Hold on to your butts, because we’ve got a bunch of new info on the PS4/PS Vita version of Skullgirls for you!
First up, Skullgirls on PS4/PS Vita will receive a slight name change — Skullgirls 2nd Encore.
Since these versions will be the ultimate Skullgirls experience, with all the new characters, new modes, and features, we wanted to differentiate it a bit from Skullgirls Encore, while also making it similar.

Why did we want to keep the subtitles similar? Because Skullgirls 2nd Encore will support cross-platform play across the entire PlayStation family: PS4, PS3, and PS Vita users will all be able to play against each other online!
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will be cross buy as well — we haven’t settled on the price yet, but you’ll get both the PS4 and PS Vita versions when you buy one. Note that current PS3 owners won’t get the new releases free — we’re putting a lot of work into these versions so we can’t just give them away, but we think the new features and improvements will be worth the upgrade!
We’ll have more information on the release date later, but hopefully this will get you more excited until then!

The final Skullgirls DLC character, Robo-Fortune, is almost complete!
She’s got lasers galore, tons of puns, and comes with our most ambitious stage yet.
Everything here is still work-in-progress, but as you can see she’s coming along nicely!

Patch out today for everybody except EU PSN folks. Apparently their was a problem on Sony's end so it will be next week for those.

Update on the PS4 version. It will be 1080/60fps and include exclusive features(tba) not on PS3/PC/360. It also will have a platinum trophy and comes with a Skullgirls PS4 theme if you pre order.
