anyone else here think this series will be longer than 26 episodes?

I mean, theres SO much left to answer. each episode usually just brings up new questions. By this time in Mai HiME they were just about done with the first arc. This show is still laying things out and some characters still havent made their return. I mean, they could make it 52. i can understand that beecause things are moving more slower plot wise. couldnt 27-52 be their pearl class days? thats when a war would happen because i dont think they would deploy coral otome to war. the other reason i think this is because of the 2nd opening which hasnt appeared yet. I was expecting it on todays because its "mid season," but still hasn't happened. could the 2nd opening be for 27-52???

seriously, there is SOOO much left to be answered. i dont think it can all be crammed into 12 more episodes.

well ... in Hime we still at ep. 14 lacked to get ... (counting) ... 2 himes (Shiho and shizuru) on the scene ... and we still lacked to get introduced problerly to the 'true' plot ... so ... i think they can pull it off on 26 eps

As long as it's not Fukuda Mitsuo of GSD shame in charge of the series, I'm hopeful the director and scriptwriters for Mai Otome can wrap up the story nicely by episode 26.
(Sorry for bringing it up guys, but just couldn't resist the opportunity for some GSD bashing. )

I don't think it will go past 26 eps, and if it does I think it will be a max of 30eps.

30? ... thats such an odd number ... it is problerly 26 ... maybe 36 or 39 (since the most oftened used is 12-13, 24, 26 and 52 or as long as it gains money)

I don't think it'll go longer than 26 episodes. They'll just stuff everything in at the end. No different than a million other shows. There's nothing a little duct tape can't solve.

It's impossible for them to lied..
No, no, I think Mai-Otome will end up nicely enough for us to discuss in 26 episodes.

Btw, do you think there's a chance for Mai-Series to become like Gundam?

Its hard, considering that they use the same characer designs in a alternate world, compared to gundam, that has different characters in alternate universes.

And besides, it can get old if you were to see Mai/Mikoto/Arika in 10 different Mai-series.(I wont mention Shizuru or Natsuki for obvious reasons. )

Exclamation From AnimeNewsNetwork

I was surfing through AnimeNewsNetwork just now & this is what I've found:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=5378

It stated that Mai Otome has a total of 26 episodes. I guess the information is authentic.

ANN isn't always the best source of correct information..

Initially, it stated that Otome had a total of 13 episodes. So, that site surely isn't completely reliable...

Sunrise may changed their minds and announce a 2nd season. Plus the whole being 26 episodes could be just for the first season.

I would go farther than stating that ANN is an unreliable source of information. I would say that ANN is a terrible source of reliably wrong information.

Oh, you know I speak the truth.

Amen to that. It's like Wikipedia.org. Just about anyone can post data on those sites.

Aside from the fact that's a double negative, I agree with the intent behind the statement. Mai Otome will be twenty six episode for (nearly) certain.

Funny facts: Mai-Otome's writer is one of the scriptwriters for GSD, while its director is a protege of Fukuda...

Red face No Info

I'll take ANN has a pinch of salt especially after reading the description for Mai Otome in that site. There is no mention on the number of episodes in the official website for Mai Otome, so perhaps the crew has not decided how many episodes they want for this series. From all the scans for Mai Otome provided in the spoilers' thread, there is also no report on the number of episodes. Of course looking at the number of episodes the series' predecessor has, many would naturally presume the possibility of the show ending @ 26 (which is expected to be on the 2nd week of April).

We got...

Mai's fury. (Forest)
Midori's fury. (Aswald)
Tomoe's jealous. (Shizuru)
Real princess guessing. (What?)
The 2 Meister Wars or something like that. (Forgot the 2 names)
Mysteries: You think Mai leaves the forest? What happens to Arika and Sergey?

Might be more.
