Looks like the Japanese love speculah — and is even more amazed with the West's speculah at times (look at how the PMMM wiki decoded the runes shown in the series

).

I realize that I'm also falling in love with the Horizon universe, and alongside Index and Shana (to a lesser extent), I'm practically a sucker for fantasy universes. *_*

Actually, yes. The Four Divine Kings of Matsudaira are subordinates of Motonobu, that's why they're taking out the units of Tres España.

We can't really say who is the real bad guy. I think Tres España is trying to stop Motonobu because his plan is too unstable and it disrupts the flow of normal History Recreation. Motonobu looks as if he's trying to save everyone from the apocalypse, but unless we discover what is involved with the Genesis Project, we shall never find out what is his real plan.

What's sure is that Mikawa will end up destroyed after this fight between the two sides.

And this speculah comes from someone who hasn't watched Episode 4 yet.

I want to say most people should have a vague idea of what's going on after 5 since by the end of 4 people are still going

the name repeated many times already, I don't care as long as I get to say it too. Seriously, everytime I see a maid army, and here with a killer head maid, it super heats that magma inside me and makes me erupt like a super volcano

That fight scene, I hope those who dropped this series early on regret it heavily now, because Kazuno was supreme. Even using her own blades as jumping platforms, I so love this girl now. Who cares if she isn't human.... an automaton is fine too

But to start the ep, I got some nice Futayo scenes, ah her sleeping posture

and I'm going to say it again: I would so have grabbed her butt too

Just because the history stops there doesn't mean it is the end of the world. Sounds a lot like Mayan Calendar 2012 thingy.

This show is really confusing and difficult for me to follow the story given the big cast and some bombastic term for every subjects. Thank god we have this thread here and I can understand the story more by reading everyone's posts.

halo, I came from MyAnimelist forum, and it seem there are just too much hater there lol.

I can't believe there are people(western) love this series, I felt like I am the only person love this series in MAL.. Hopefully I can get some discussion and info here since I am not very familiar with the Anime as well =)

hm if you still confused or have a question dont hesitate to ask another member here or read the compilation of links that I gave (Horizon Wiki, member's comments, infodump, character profile, chart, map, etc).

Honestly, I will not be surprised to see people complaining all the way to the very end, which is part of the fun for me.

If we have as much hate as the GC thread got, we would be at 2000 posts mark already, which is basically free advertisement.

I think its not really hater, most of them are blaming the Anime for not doing the good job of adapting the original.

I can see there are quite alot of fan here. Unfortunately my "fan hype" is almost completely exhausted in MAL...

I've watched that brilliant one and half minute of epic Kazuno awesomeness about a bazillion times!

Forgot to say this before(all I could think about was KazunoXD) but I'm not too sure on Kobayashi Yuu as Futayo, I really do like Kboayashi's voice but I had imagined something different tbh.
But then I do think she has a has a lovely little squeal, works great when she gets bum grabbed

Well just have to wait and see if her voice grows on me for the part.

Seeing I'm not a novel reading audience, and I still managed to understand most of things going on the screen (aside from character names, which I'm really bad at remembering, and some term here and there), I'd say they are doing fairly well at adapting.

lol the shitty attitude of MAL's community drives yet another one out. What I've found is that once they've decided to hate a show (usually only takes about an episode and a show not being very hyped, but it could be jump started by almost anything) it's like blogs, they just keep finding ways to hate it and do nothing but complain non-stop since that more or less becomes the goal. It's pretty bad, but in any case welcome to Anime Suki. We do quite a bit better in regard to providing people a decent non-hostile community to discuss shows.

If I had to make a guess as to what would be the rest of the internet's problem with this show it's that there's a discrepancy between the fanservice moments and the ones where there is actual backstory going on so they seem to think they don't have to pay a lot of attention and miss all the wordplay, straightforward explanations and all the character development going on.

This is one of the most convoluted and weird anime I've seen in a while. Should be tucked away of those confusing CLAMP works.

Not saying it's bad, I just don't know what the hell is going on. It's taking them a long time to get to the gist of the story.

Welcome to the only decent Horizon discussion thread in the Internet.

You should know me by the name Orix in the MAL forums... and one of the few supporters of this series in the sea of haters there.

Well, what's challenging with this series is that it is SF-heavy; its jargon and history might be too much to handle for someone inexperienced with the science fiction or fantasy genre. Otherwise, it is interesting how it is simple to connect the dots if you're already used to series of this genre.

Other posts mentioned how the ranking basically racked up like crazy, but everyone need to understand that 100th to 50th is a crazy ton easier to achieve than say 20th to 10th (because this is cumulative for all the sales including non-anime). Right now Horizon is back to 11th. I'm not sure if you guys understand how awesome this is considering everyone following online knew that Episode 4 is only the "pre-hype", Episode 5 is the main dish.

These stats are before TMX (Tokyo), TSA (Nagoya), and TVS (Saitama)'s airings at late Monday night/early Tuesday morning (which is at 1:30 instead of the shit hour at 3am on MBS, which the earliest broadcast), and that means Monday night is the main time slot.

I cannot repeat how amazing this is before the Monday airing (oh wait I just did). Now after the airing, this went all the way back up to 11 (the highest it ever got was Episode 1, which was the 10th). Finally, this over took Persona 4 again-the series without a doubt is going to be the king of sales (I can't include F/Z in the discussion because it's pretty much unpredictable for this kind of discussion with its box sale method) unless Horizon pulls some crazy crap out of its ass. What is assuring is not ONLY the first sale got a huge boost, all the other ones did too. While animate ranking is not accurate, it does provide nice source of reference.

LOOK AT THAT (EVERY SINGLE ONE OF 'EM ARE RANKED), even on stalker, all of them are within 100. I'm laughing so hard right now. I've said this before and I'll say it again. A quality series will stand on its own with haters (this board is actually REALLY, REALLY TAME in terms of hate; in other boards, Horizon fans get so much shit from the two particular other groups for the fall season who basically treat their love like the best thing ever since chocolate chip cookies).

Maybe it's a difference in culture. In the Asian boards, people who don't get it will dig up more info to understand, and Kawakami's writing is one of such that the more you read the more you love and get addicted. Owari no Chronicle readers pretty much fangasms at just simple mentioning of Tes (the usual group failed to translate this right again ...) and seeing Kazuno (all robots have certain degree of gravity control power, and they all originated from 3rd G in OnC). People who don't get the anime are increasingly decreasing thank you to FABULOUS PEOPLE (or person in this forum, you guys who know that is!) on various boards that give more insight to the story to help people get into the series. Honestly, most of the novel readers don't understand even half of wtf's going on when reading novel 1. Yeah about that blog you linked, take it from someone who has actually seen episode 3 of Age, that guy is completely beyond full of shit and has no idea what he's talking about. Episode 3 is quite well directed and has plenty or development and emotional weight as well as some solid action. Again this is coming from someone who has actually seen it, not from someone with a blatant agenda to sabotage the show at every turn. Like you said with Hadena, do not listen to Applejuice unless you want to hate Gundam Age!

That said I'm really looking forward to this latest episode of Horizon. It'd only be fitting that it hit its stride around the same time as Age. :d
