I don't know if this belong properly into the forum, but since ONE PIECE is being compared, I'll take my chances.

Why was Volume 27 the record setter? Wouldn't newer volumes have more copies? Or haven't they gone beyond 27 yet in releasing volumes?

I think Volumn 27 is the highest current volumn. One or two more chapters and we'll hit 28, then we'll see OP put the smackdown on that old wizard boy. :P

Yeah, its not surprising. But a little bit off-topic, I wonder if this would encourage manga deals for Harry Potter? Not that I'm suggesting it or anything.

Ugh, I hate harry potter. Just kill that whole series right now. It's so pathetic it's beyond words. Of course, I suspect that it's probubly a trend like it is here in the states. If anyone has been paying attention, the harry potter craze is starting to wear off as kids are slowly growing tired of him. Eventually he'll die off and be relegated to history like he should be. The sooner HP is no longer popular, the happier I'll be.

OP has been waning somewhat in popularity for the last year or so, hence why subsequent volumes beyond 27 have not been breaking the record.

those "record" copies are the cause of wholesale buyers and retailers, and not exactly the consumers. one piece as an anime and HP as a fantasy movie/book are totally different, maybe its just there are alot more retailers/wholesaler buyers for Harry Potter

u can also get One Piece from weekly magazines i believe. HP is just a book, i dont think they show u a chapter a week on some magazine that probabaly costs $1 US. For One Piece they do. Maybe only OP fans buy the novel, while ppl who just enjoy the series buys the weekly thing. And in magazine form u can buy it with ur friends to save even more money and just pass it around. How long would it take to read like 12 pages of manga?

Well, HP is actually quite good? Take it from an adult who got in on the craze about 3/4 of the way through. It is genuinely good ****! The last book did however leave a lot to be desired.

. But yea Harry Potter is extremely over powered. Both the Movies and the Novels. Well the Movies however imo, are a complete crap....all of them, a disgrace of the novels. Some of the One Piece Movies are crap too though.

Koge Donbo as the official HP mangaka?! No way! Anybody can cutesify the younger and more "prettier" characters, but what about the rest of the huge cast? HP isn't about cuteness. >_<

I used to have this fantasy about Naoki Urasawa (Monster, 20th Century Boys) being the official HP mangaka, even though it'll never happen. This fanart shows why.
