Seriously, I am not trying to be snotty, but knowing katakana and hiragana (which are supereasy to learn) will be of great help in learning how to pronounce a lot of names in anime.

I still don't like the way the kids simply aren't scared or screaming or shouting or having nightmares when these freaky guys in crazy black clothes just comes and GRABS one of their friends. Sheesh!! How far do I have to suspend my disbelief?

Although it's good that htey showed the rest of the town staring in the sky in blankness when the flying-Buddha-thing appeared.

I do sort of wish Haruka didn't have such swift mood shifts though... I mean, after falling down from the sky at that height she just calmly looks at Karasu and says "yeah I'm OK." I guess she has infinite trust in Karasu to save her...

Though I really do wish the flying-Buddha-things stayed around a bit longer, instead of being dealt with so quickly.

As for what Noein is, I think the evidence is starting to point very strongly to Noein actually being a combination of Yuu with Haruka's powers. If you ask me, that eye looked more like Haruka's than Yuu's. In fact, notice the shape of the eye - the animators have always been careful to draw Yuu and Karasu's eyes as square, but Noein's is clearly rounded! And don't tell me it's because of the mask, his eye shouldn't be so big anyway...

Though Kuina is looking very much like Noein with that half-mask, I think it's just a herring about as red as Noein's eyes...

Although I REALLY liked how Kuina's mouth and face got whapped off. I felt very sorry for Kuina then and there, betrayer though he may be... The way he spoke without the mouth, his voice sounding mechanically muffled - ahhh, Kuina! All you want is to fulfil that ultimate want and need that everyone else wants, that is to live on, but because of your betrayals you must be betrayed as well...

I have a feeling that Haruka saying what she said on top of the flying-Buddha-thing was kind of like a combination of all the Harukas in teh world or something like that. It didn't sound like her at all...

EDIT: But great to see Atori getting confused again, even though the way it was handled seemed a bit cliche. Mad Atori COME BA~CK!

Now I can see the link forming between the principle of observation (or whatever it's called, forgive my ignorance) in quantum physics, the idea that what Haruka sees is the "real" world, and that utterance at the beginning of every episode preview....

She's seeing a dream again... the dream of that summer.

Oh I am going to be so sad if it turns out that she'll never 'wake up' from this dream and she'll just see the cycle repeat... and repeat... and repeat... just like all the circular motifs in the show like the Torque and the Ring of Uruboros and so on...

Yeah, I thought "Haruka Wao" was hilarious. 8)

BTW, Noein's blue eye looked like Haruka's, you know, at that moment where she activates the Torque. Red eye looks like the Uroboros eye.

I think Noein's eye was blue because of the green filter applied to the video when the time stopped.

EDIT(3): OK, I somehow managed to scribble a quasi-translation of page one of the interview with Kazuki Akane on Web Anime Style. I won't guarantee its accuracy, but I don't think it's really inaccurate per se. It's just that I probably haven't captured the nuances and what not accurately - to be honest, I'm dead tired and I can't think, so this is as good as it gets for now. If you know Japanese and you can improve on this PLEASE DO!
Here you go, translation.

The bit I'm most unsure about is the part where he talks about parents. Keep in mind the parent-child relationships in the show, it may make a bit more sense. (esp. Haruka's mother)

PS: There are absolutely no spoilers in there at all, you could have not watched the show and still read it without missing much - it'd just seem quite confusing, thanks to my vagueness :P.

EDIT#2: Soundtrack 2 out on 24 March!! Not much longer, I can't wait! There was some nice music in episode 18 that hasn't been used so far. Also there are small preview screenshots of ep 19 available on the main site.

OMG! I'm sorry for the double post but Anime Style has put up pictures of the character designs - the ones with all the emotions and stuff like that - here, and here.

Ai's character design, when you look at it, is so good! The eyes and the way the face and hair is drawn gives a very genuine and original sort of feeling. And I think it's really awesome how the characters all have different kinds of eyes. Yuu's character looks very real there even if it doesn't seem that way in the show due to the oscillating ways of drawing him. There's really this "angsty brat" feeling comingo ut from him and those eyes of his really do look like Karasu's.

Depends on your interpretation of it. Enshutsu in the anime case is more like a per-episode director because IIRC he overlooks the various scenes and the production of the various cuts, but he also seems to coordinate the background and colouring and stuff in one episode it seems.

I did not use "animation director" anyway because it would confuse with "sakuga kantoku" which is almost always translated as "animation director", though really it is more like "drawings corrector" because 90% of the time, sakuga kantoku don't seem to actually do anything with the ANIMATION, but more like the drawings (faces and so on) and the types of lines. Kazuki Akane certainly didn't do that.

Did I get it right that it's some kind of a Reiz well-spring and it was developed due to Magic Circle Project's experiments with the quantum computers? The action was intriguing as well. Despite Kuina's betrayal of Lacrima, I still feel pity for the guy. I mean, how much more disfigured can he get? Also, didn't it seem like it was Kosagi who spirited him away after he was done? In end though, Haruka kicked butt with her Torque powers. I was somewhat disappinted that the Buddha monsters didn't wreak any havoc, but Haruka disposed of all three of them quite nicely. 8) Also, what's up with Noein's eye? Is it red? Is it blue? On a separate note, I just can't image how screwed up Noein must be inside, to be able to mess with everyone's head (Haruka, Karasu, Kuina, etc.) so adeptly... His desperation to reach Shangrila certainly explains his forceful approach to ensuring Lacryma gets the Torque at all costs. This certainly goes a long way to explain his character

Are we seeing the truth to Noein's identity? (I.E. Blue eye equated to Kuina's Blue very dominantly in this episode). If so, does that mean that Noein has simply been disguising himself this whole time in some way? Why bother? What is really going on here? Certainly if Kuina loses any more of himself he could become a reverse of Noein's mask. Also, from this episode and the preview, it looks like we're about to lose Atori again... poor guy. At least there's some possibility we'll find out what happened to him.
