It might fit her better, but it wouldn't have the same impact as a kuudere Kana-chan AK-47.

How a series does its school festival episode can tell you a lot about the tone of the series. In this case, it carried through on the gun theme well enough, while still providing enough of the cute girl dynamic that keeps me tethered to this series. The desert-in-a-classroom was some kind of demented genius, especially with the camel brought in. Poor Funco, not nearly stacked enough for the maid outfit, though that appears to have been corrected by the end. All this downtime after the wargame is pretty fun.

Next week: Beach episode!

Well I'm happy, got loads of Thompson-sensei(best part of teh episode), long haired Aug-chan, the Onee-chans(we sooo need more of the Onee-chans!), and camo style maid uniforms!

Now then onwards to the beach epsiode!
Altho looks like the Onee-chans won't be showing up but god I hope I'm wrong there!

WTF!

The site previously announced that Ohara was the seiyu of Thompson (even when the show had started with a few episodes) and it did say that she's the seiyu until I went to take a look at the site. I know that the Japanese wiki can be changed, but it also sticks with Ohara as the seiyu too. I'll just stick with Ohara being the seiyu unless otherwise told. Especially since she's credited officially in the latest episodes.

There have always been guy students they've just been background characters in both anime and manga so you don't notice them that much.

So episode 8 was anime original? Definitely felt off to me, and "over the top" sounds about right. Reminded me of that cheesy treasure hunting episode in the second season of Strike Witches where everyone's character felt really exaggerated. This episode looked really rough too. I hope the show can get back on track for the finale. And a beach episode next, Xebec better have been saving budget for that one.
