i thought the movies were good. but i hate the fact that the second on altered the whole thing on l not dying and light's father not dying. i hate that. that fucking bothers me. plus they left out some important things in the movie. it makes me mad!

I actually liked the movie because it was different than the series.
Anyway, does anyone know if the 3rd Death Note movie has been released on DVD in Japan yet? I know it was shown last March or so of 2008...it takes about a year for it to go from theatre to DVD, but I was wondering if anyone has a street date as I can't find it on any websites. |

I've seen a picture, searched from somewhere of Ikuta Toma on L's outfit. Immediately
I thought of him suitable for the role. I think his acting style fit either. But I'm not trying to say that the one who got the role is not. Just wanting to share my opinions. |

I saw the first 2 Death Note films at the theater (also through Fathom Events which I tend to check periodically) and I'm really glad I did. This third movie I've already seen on DVD (subtitled). I liked it, but not as much as the first two films. It could have used a little less gore because at times it almost felt like a bad horror movie. I'm still undecided if I want to pay the money to see it on the big screen, but I will likely buy the dubbed DVD.

I prefer the movie ending to the way the manga/anime did. Although I always wanted K to be succesful, the fact that L defeated him but also died was far more acceptable to me.
They actually showed the 2 movies on Film 4 in the UK several weeks ago. I still gotta watch the 3rd one. |

My boyfriend owns all 3 live action Death Note movies on DVD (including L Change The World)
He never stops watching them as his favourite one is Death Note 2: The Last Name My favourite of the three of them (which I've sat & watched with him) is also the second movie |

I just watched the first Death Note Movie. It sucked but there were some things I liked.
At first I was disappointed that they changed Naomi's death scene and Ray's Penbars last name. But I got over it and actually liked the new scene. I still think it was stupid how she told him her name was an allias and that she was Raye's widow. So it was no shock that Light had written out that entire death scene either. Light and ~L~ look like REAL FEMALES. All throughout the movie I was wondering if these were female actresses playing male roles. It was disturbing. Also Light and ~L~ looked too similar. Both of them looked like emo outcasts. This worked good for ~L~...but Light was supposed to be a handsome preppy guy who everyone wants to be. Why did they have him getting bullied at a bar? That set the wrong mood from the start. It made all the 'justice killings' seem more as if Light was some nerd who got bullied and is now seeking revenge. When his girlfriend didn't want to kiss him in public, I laughed...cause hes so ugly.lol All in all, the movie was made for TV and was horribly written and acted. I hope the Hollywood remake is better. Though, it shouldn't be hard to do since the Japanese version sucked. |
