I would have assumed that Black Forest were champions so many times because of superior tactics and planning, what with the "Nishizumi style" and all the mystique that goes with it. Quote:

It's not very often that we get such a nice mix of cute, awesome, and heart-pounding all at the same time. They did a much better job here than the version I had in my head. That's what makes it so awesome.

They do, and quite awesomely at that too.
A fun bit of trivia is that Uesaka Sumire, the VA for Nonna aka the long-haired Pravda girl this episode, is a well-known Russia otaku, and is fluent in the language. It's quite apparent in the song that she's well versed in the language, adding that extra bit of awesome to it. *At least I can put my Nonna = Dekomori fears to rest Quote:
Anime really needs to abuse classical music more.

Currently watching the episode.
From the dialogue during the introduction of the new B1 "Duck" team, it makes it seem like Oarai school ship is really gonna get scrapped/abolished. Momo says that the next match is against Pravda, last years champion and they must win, if they lose it's the end. The juniors says that even if they lose, there's a next time. Momo interrupts and answers that it's no good, followed by silence and Anzu repeating that they must win. No reason explained but all puts a very ominous air to it. To further add to the ominous air is the council inviting Miho to dinner. the little bits talked during it like reminiscing about the good old days at school. And in the end they didn't tell anything to Miho. And btw the volleyball is Ahiru or domestic duck. And discipline committee is Kamo or (wild) duck. |

The challenges posed to Oorai is so steep. I really wonder whose idea it was that Oorai must win against reigning champions with less-than-adequate vehicles. Someone is obviously insane, and something tells me the disciplinary committee is somehow connected to the investors/owners of the school.
OUTLOOK IS PESSIMISTIC! Seriously, if I was a student at Oorai, I might as well just transfer. Sure the school may be closed down, but wouldn't transferring be an easier option? - Tak
