That's something I'd like to see (who says reading AnimeSuki can't be educational?). Is Wikipedia right about the DVD editions having the original poor-quality soundtrack?

So any release date on this? I just watched an episode of strike witches because I heard it was sort of related to WWII....woa. (I also see a lot of German idealism(notice there are more German girls?). Anyways, this was way too far out there for me.

This seems more realistic, so I am looking forward to it.

I am worried that the magical aspects will not be subtle at all (I'm fine with, even supportive of supernormal if it's more of a background role, like the force in star wars), and detract from the pure awesomeness that is the Eastern Front of WW2.

Well, you can always get your Eastern Front fill with Call of Duty:World at War.

Yeah, but seeing it in anime would be kickass. Too bad japanese people are more into things like mechas.

I have been always dreaming one day a realistic portrayal of Eastern Front in anime format. But it is a distant dream. Way too distant.

A common solution is become God. Then you can do anything!

Is this anime going to air anywhere soon or do we have to wait another decade or so for just another trailer

This is a movie, so I doubt it'll air on tv. I guess we'll have to wait for a DVD release or something. No idea if this'll be in theaters or not.

Maybe it's going to do the festival circuit before the DVD release. It does say "Roadshow 2009" on the website.

Reminds me of the awesome comic series The Red Star - if only that story could get made into an anime...

...but I'm looking forward to this one, for sure!

While its premises doesn't really sounds bad but I think it could be better if they made a realistic WW2 anime that takes place in Battle of Leyte Gulf or Battle of Stalingrad.

But it prob wouldn't sell. Hence, the girl carries a sword and is fighting against a supernatural element.

Good idea except I wouldn't watch it.

It is so much better when the supernatural element gets tossed in.
