Well it's not like it's hard to get the raws or anything. Jcafe has all the volumes in raw after all. It's probably because everyone is busy with other translations at the moment or real life interference. Especially since a whole lot of good shows are premiering this week.

As mechatrill says, Kazuki's forte lays in his flexibility or versatility in using spell. At the moment he has at least 30 spell from 7 different diva.

Let's says his opponent attack physically, he can use Rudy's level 2 spell to block it, when he was attacked by ice based spell, he can use Mio's flame armor to protect himself. When he want to be nasty, he use Kaguya's spell which reflect all the incoming pain. When he was attacked by a spreading poison he use Koyuki's spell to wash the poison away. And many more example actually.

The advantage Kaguya has at the moment is she can use her level 10 spell, while Kazuki only has access to her level 6 spell. And maybe you already guess it but all level 10 spell was HAX. Btw, Kaguya level 10 spell sure remind me of shockwave pulsar from ff8.

The problem with the mantra is because he actually say it out loud rather than saying it in his mind making Kaguya whose in the middle of attacking her lose her drive,,

They did fight and Kazuki won, twice actually, but neither of the 2 were really truly indicative of their true strength. The first was at the end of vol 3, but Kaguya wasn't at nearly her full ability, especially considering that she couldn't use her extremely powerful lv 9 Hellfire spell. The second was the Student Council Election Tournament, but that was a 4v4 team battle, so again...

Hmm... Speaking of that, I guess I'll give a few spoilers on the Student Council Election Tournament:

The thing is, the winner doesn't automatically get the presidency. The whole thing is more like the Chuunin exam tournament from Naruto: Strength is probably the most important quality for the Presidency, so winning the tournament is much like showcasing your own strength. After the tournament, the various candidates would then leverage their performances to appeal to the school and gather votes from the students.

In fact, for the sake of showcasing their strength, there's even a loser's bracket so that the ones who get eliminated early due to bad luck in their match-ups will still have the chance to show off. How it goes is that the losers of the first round of the tournament will be paired off in the loser's bracket to fight. The winners from those fights will then get paired with those eliminated in the second round of the tournament proper, then so on and so forth. Volume 5 even provides a handy diagram for better visualization:


Now, as mentioned, the tournament is supposed to be 4v4 battles. Specifically, it calls for 2 summoner school students paired with 2 sword school students on each side. Kazuki, however, had rather bad luck in his selection of teammates: Kazuki and Mio are the summoners, with Kohaku and Kazuha as the swordsmen.

Now, that team would actually be quite powerful, if not for the additional rules: Summoners may not use weapons (manifested weapons due to summoner spells are fine though), and sword students are only allowed to use normal magic (as in non-summoner magic) and their weapons. Plus, magic swords are forbidden.

Yes, that's right. For Kazuki who is great at swords, Kohaku who uses magic swords, and Kazuha who is a great summoner but sucks at swords, they're pretty much crippled, leaving Mio as the only member of their team who can fight at her full potential.

The back luck compounds with the fact that after taking out some unmemorable mooks for their first round, their second round opponent is Kaguya's team, composed of Kaguya, Koyuki, Kanae, and the recently shown Yamada Torazou (I think).

Still, team Kazuki does manage even with their disability. By this point, Kazuki has collected a number of spells from different Deva, and so has quite a number of option that lets him magic as well as any summoner or even act as the vanguard with just his bare hands. Kohaku might not be able to use her magic swords anymore, but she's still one of the strongest students in the sword school even without them. Finally, Kazuha starts getting lessons from Kazuki this volume, leading to rapid improvements in her swordsmanship by the time the tournament properly starts.

2. iirc, they fight 3 times. First Kazuki, Mio, and Rudy was being attacked while on a mission, they losing and run. second, Kazuki get help from the girl from chapter 8(?) manga (Loki contractor), they fight, won and being ambushed by someone, Kazuki went into hiding. The third time, Beatrix bring her companion from her country and along with the people who ambushed him before clash with Kazuki.


So in their third fight what happened and who won ?

speaking of OP, Kazuki SHOULD be virtually untouchable vs ranged attacks if one of his girls has this capability to reinforce the basic mana shields against magical attacks.
